And this is just a small reminder of WHY we do what we do...
Meet Piglet. Piglet was abandoned outside of a local animal shelter approximately 2 months ago, where she was found severely matted, overgrown nails, extremely obese, and not in good health. It was questionable if Piglet could even stand or walk at that point. When she was brought to our facility for examination, we began shaving off her matted fur, in which we found the fur was so knotted around her leg, that it caused her to lose circulation to her hind limb, and the leg literally fell off in front of us. Piglet underwent extensive surgery to amputate the rest of the limb, and also had a dental done as her teeth were rotting and needed several extractions.
Fast forward two months later, and look at her now! With a regimented diet, Piglet has lost just over 3 pounds (that's a lot of a little dog!), her amputation site has healed nicely, and she just got a new set of wheels so she can be more mobile! Piglet is now living happily ever after with one of our technicians, Sam.
