Everyone meet Athena 🐾

She presented on urgent care on December 17th for potentially being hit by car and not putting weight on her right hind leg. Dr. Bailey and the staff performed bloodwork, abdominal + right hindlimb x-rays and placed a splint. Unfortunately, she had a fracture of her metatarsals (toes near her ankle). She was on activity restriction and needed to have frequent bandage changes. We are excited to announce that a month after her original injury that her fracture has healed!

This purrrrfect feline is Amigo 😻

He was hospitalized with us for pancreatitis after having some chronic vomiting. He was always purring during his treatments and just wanted to be loved. He improved with supportive medications and IV fluid therapy. He also loved his wet food! 🥰😍

His owners report that he is doing much better at home. Give Amigo some love ❤️

This is what the doctor or technician is seeing under the microscope! We often see them “crawling” and can also see their eggs 🔬

These creatures cause kittens/cats to have extremely itchy ears, but usually resolves with topical prevention or ear mite treatment 🐾

Pardon the shaky camera- microscope videos are hard😂 If you look closely, you can see a worm shaped thing moving in the middle of the microscope. This is microfliaria- or baby heartworms! We diagnosed a dog with heartworm disease just a few weeks ago. This is why we recommend keeping your pets on year round heartworm prevention ❤️
