Goldendoodles have become increasingly popular due to their charming appearance and friendly demeanor. However, many owners are unaware of the high maintenance requirements for their coats. Here are a few essential points to consider:

Daily brushing and combing are necessary from an early age, typically around six months old. This phase can last up to three years, after which you'll need to brush and comb your dog every 3-7 days.

Regular professional grooming should commence when the dog is about four months old. Grooming sessions should be scheduled every 4-6 weeks, depending on your desired coat length.

Grooming costs can start at $120 for a basic shave down for a small-sized doodle. Prices rise for longer and more luxurious coats, with average annual costs ranging from $1,500 to $3,000.

Home bathing requires a rigorous routine to avoid matting. The coat must be brushed and combed thoroughly when dry after a bath.

Unfortunately, many Goldendoodles are bred without considering the parents' temperament or conducting genetic testing. As a result, you could potentially end up with a puppy predisposed to health conditions like hip dysplasia, sebaceous adenitis, subvalvular aortic stenosis, Addison's disease, and various eye diseases.
