I thought this message, and this sentiment was worth sharing

By this time next week, you can go from “can I get that shipped in time for Christmas” to “how can I disappoint everyone I know in 2024.” Just remember, outside of what you need for actual survival, every want is something created by other people or taught to us and the only thing we owe ourselves is peace. It can be a difficult time of year and I hate the idea of people running around spending time they’ll never get back to buy things they’ll never finish paying for to get approval of people who simply won’t ever approve. Sometimes we disappoint people because they choose to be disappointed. That’s ok. Being a good person isn’t measured in currency: there’s plenty of rich as****es out there. Be a good person. Treat people well. Do good things. Give yourself peace. Also, look at this cat.
