Posting for a friend in rescue,

There is a 2 year old German Shepherd available to adopt. Super loving dog and loves to play. Has slight issues with strangers, but I will be training him. This dog is a power house and will test his boundaries, so if you want to adopt him you cannot be a little sissy. If you are not for having control on a dog and putting in the work after training , don’t waste your time even trying to message me.

I can not get over how freaking beautiful the kennel and training building is. We are finally out of phase 1 and going into phase 2. Now we are going to be installing concrete, plumbing, septic ,walls and electric then completely insulating and installing white paneling on the interior in the training room then hdpe in the kennel room . Can not wait for the turn key product and to start building some nice single and dual purpose dogs!

Nice little update,

We finally have a 40x80 working dog training kennel going in. We are super excited to get this done . It will have a 20x40 area for the inside runs that will go to the outdoor covered runs as well as a 40x60 inside training area. So close ,but so far away! The electric septic and plumbing will be the death of me as that will take the longest.

You ever wondered about the K-9 Nose? Well, here is a boat load of information. One of my favorite things to do with dogs is detection as I think it’s neat and fun to teach a dog.Also being on the end of the leash is awesome as well.

Dogs have up to 300 million olfactory receptors in their noses, compared to a mere 5 million in humans, allowing them to perceive and distinguish a vast array of odors with incredible acuity.

K-9 olfaction is not only powerful, but also highly specialized. Dogs possess a second olfactory system known as the Jacobson's organ, which enhances their ability to detect pheromones and other chemical signals that elude human perception. This remarkable sensory equipment enables dogs to navigate the world primarily through their sense of smell, providing a rich tapestry of information about their environment and the beings within it.

The K-9 nose is put to work in a variety of fields, from search and rescue missions to detection work in law enforcement, customs, and conservation. Dogs trained for purposes such as drug detection, explosives detection, and search and rescue leverage their exceptional olfactory abilities to locate specific scents quickly and accurately, often in challenging and high-pressure scenarios. By harnessing the extraordinary potential of the K9 nose, we unlock possibilities for enhancing security and safety.

We recently just installed 2 acres of privacy fence. In the next few weeks we will be demoing a old building and building a brand new 40x80 kennel and training building. We are super excited!

Did you know,

The first ever K-9 Unit at a police department in the United States was established in New York in 1911, but had moderate success? Over the next few decades, law enforcement K-9 programs had varied success rates. It wasn’t untill around the 1950s, when Baltimore’s police department’s K-9 program garnered attention, that police dog programs became more popular. By the 1970s, the use of police dogs in law enforcement had become more popular.

Today, these dogs are the best tool any police department can have!
