Part-time openings for a pet caregivers/kennel assistants. 3 to 5 hour shifts. 7 am - noon and/or 3- 6 PM. Includes weekend and holidays.
Responsibilities include checking in and out pets, supervising dogs during play time, cleaning kennel and outdoor areas, pressure washing, feeding, doing laundry and dishes, giving medication, and other duties as needed.

Heatstroke occurs when your pet’s body temperature rises to dangerous levels. It’s a common summer emergency and is a life-threatening condition that can cause organs to shut down, most often affecting the heart, kidneys, liver, brain, lungs, central nervous system, blood-clotting system, and gastrointestinal tract. Watch for these signs that your pet may be experiencing heatstroke and need emergency care.

Hats off to sweet Judy!!🇺🇸

Judy, a purebred pointer, was the mascot of several ships in the Pacific, and was captured by the Japanese in 1942 and taken to a prison camp. There she met Aircraftsman Frank Williams, who shared his small portion of rice with her.
Judy raised morale in the POW camp, and also barked when poisonous snakes, crocodiles or even tigers approached the prisoners. When the prisoners were shipped back to Singapore, she was smuggled out in a rice sack, never whimpering or betraying her presence to the guards.
The next day, that ship was torpedoed. Williams pushed Judy out of a porthole in an attempt to save her life, even though there was a 15-foot drop to the sea. He made his own escape from the ship, but was then recaptured and sent to a new POW camp.
He didn't know if Judy had survived, but soon he began hearing stories about a dog helping drowning men reach pieces of debris after the shipwreck. And when Williams arrived at the new camp, he said: "I couldn’t believe my eyes! As I walked through the gate, a scraggly dog hit me square between the shoulders and knocked me over. I’d never been so glad to see the old girl!"
They spent a year together at that camp in Sumatra. "Judy saved my life in so many ways," said Williams. "But the greatest of all was giving me a reason to live. All I had to do was look into those weary, bloodshot eyes and ask myself: 'What would happen to her if I died?' I had to keep going."
Once hostilities ceased, Judy was then smuggled aboard a troopship heading back to Liverpool. In England, she was awarded the Dickin Medal (the "Victoria Cross" for animals) in May 1946. Her citation reads: "For magnificent courage and endurance in Japanese prison camps, which helped to maintain morale among her fellow prisoners, and also for saving many lives through her intelligence and watchfulness".
At the same time, Frank Williams was awarded the PDSA's White Cross of St. Giles for his devotion to Judy. Frank and Judy spent a year after the war visiting the relatives of English POWs who had not survived, and Frank said that Judy "always provided a comforting presence to the families."
When Judy finally died at the age of 13, Frank spent two months building a granite and marble memorial in her memory, which included a plaque describing her life story.

Don't let your baby become a "hot dog"... This happens to dogs outside too- especially short nosed pups like pugs, bostons and bull dogs, and long coated dogs, not accustomed to walks or exercise on hot days. If you think your dog may have heat exhaustion, don't wait! Take them to an emergency animal hospital right away! It's well worth the expense for a check up to avoid losing your dog. With IV's and monitored care, your dog can survive.

We are open and happily greeting guests for boarding and grooming during this international health crisis.

We appreciate your continued patronage as. A locally owned small business it makes all the difference.

We’ve had a couple covid scares in the last couple months but all is well at this point. One staffer tested positive and self-isolated and is now back at work and another had a family exposure and we expect them to be back with a negative test and self isolation period ending soon.
we probably really don’t have to ask, but please wear a mask when you come in the kennel. You’re welcome to pull your car up right to the door and if you see somebody in the lobby hang out in your vehicle until they’re gone.

If you don’t have a mask or would rather do a curb-side checkin, You can call us on the phone or blow your horn just get our attention will be happy to come out to the car if you’d like.

We have changed our hours slightly because of the pandemic, you can imagine our occupancy has gone down rather considerably. So to accommodate that lighter guest load, we are having Covid hours:

Monday through Friday:
mornings from 7 AM - 11 AM
Afternoons from 4PM to 6 PM

Saturday morning hours from 7 to 11 AM

Sunday evening hours: 4 PM to 6 PM

If our change in hours become an inconvenience that is not easily overcome feel free to call us and we will do everything we can to accommodate you during non-regular hours.

Our grooming services continue Coleen Moore is grooming for us and She is scheduling her appointments directly. If you’d like to get in for a groom or bath nails any grooming services just call a regular number 317867BONE and will get your contact information to Coleen and she’ll call you right back and confirm a time.
