These are back to back shoulder mounts from yesterday and today!! This is why Josh and I hate to see deer cut up the back of the legs unless you know what you are doing! The sewing time to correct these mistakes is unreal! We prefer you to ring the legs at the first joint , do not split up into the brisket and cut the cape off at least 6 inches behind the front legs!! The last 2 photos are of rung legs and the correct amount of hide.
These new modern forms have way more shoulder and having to sew mistakes compromises a high quality mount. Sorry just had to vent!!

Merry Christmas from Steve German’s Taxidermy Art!
As in the past we will be closed the week after Christmas and this year I’m having surgery in Houston on New Years Eve and will be in the hospital for a few days so it may be a little longer this year!
If you have ducks, geese or small mammals to bring in just put in a plastic bag, force out the air and seal then freeze. If you have a deer,put in plastic bag a put in the freezer.
Well try and have the studio open as soon as possible!!

It’s almost that time folks!!! Take a plastic bag to the blind with you!! Grab the foot, shake out excess water, bill under the wing!! Put the bird aside and continue the hunt!! Our slogan is “ Preserve the Memory” and we would love to do that for you!!! Steve German’s Taxidermy Art!!!

It’s that time of year!! To all of our loyal clients and anyone who would like to become one!!! Don’t forget to drop your out of state deer off for us at Ty’s Taxidermy in Vidor,Tx , exit 864 on I-10!! Be sure to tell them your trophy is coming to Steve German’s Taxidermy Art!! We’re back at it full speed!! Steve German’s Taxidermy Art is looking forward to our 52nd year in business and hoping to continue to please our old and our new clients!! Open 7AM close 4 PM Monday thru Thursday on Friday we close at 2! If you haven’t seen our showroom it’s worth the trip!!! Hope you all have a productive and fun hunting season!!
