Speaking of Vintage…
‘The Hurting’ by Tears For Fears is an album that is in my top 10 of all time. This was, and remains, a very influential album for me. It’s musically brilliant and very much underrated. Tears For Fears is an incredible group whose sound transcended them being just some 80s pop group. People think TFF’s sound is represented in ‘Everybody Wants to Rule the World,’ which is an amazing song. It’s actually quite the anomaly in that it is the most pop-friendly song on that album!
‘The Hurting’ set the musical course and introduced the versatility of the group. They only blossomed with every successive album as they infused more soul, jazz, and gospel into their songs.
40 years ago today, Tears For Fears released their brilliant debut studio album “The Hurting” featuring singles "Mad World" "Change" "Pale Shelter" and "Suffer the Children"
