This was on my Facebook memories this morning and I had to share. Peach and Jonesy aren’t usually demonstrative of their affection for each other but their bond is iron clad. It’s beautiful to see. 😻
Today is Gotcha Day for both Peach and Jonesy, two years apart!
I started fostering Peach January 2020, but we officially adopted each other February 26, 2020. Just 17 days later, the world as we knew it ended, and she became the one consistency in my life. We got each other through Covid and so much more. She is my soul kitty.
Jonesy came to me as a last-minute addition to a foster group in October 2021. She was initially adopted by my sister, but soon developed her medical issues and returned home with me after Christmas 2021, and I waited until midnight on February 26, 2022 to sign the papers making her officially mine. I always thought I was a one-cat woman, but Jonesy completes this family in a way I never thought possible. She’s the calming, snuggly force both Peach and I needed and I love watching the bond between them. Jonesy is my forever baby.
Happy happy Gotcha Day, my beautiful girls. You're the best thing that's ever been mine. 🧡🖤
Yesterday, Amanda Rasch told me there were no cats left to foster. Today, Megan Carlson said “Not so fast.” 😹Plotter is 3 and came from a difficult situation in Ohio. He was lashing out at the shelter, which made his chances of adoption pretty low. He’s with me to decompress and learn people are friends not food. 😹Lucky #56 here we go!
This childless cat lady would like a better life for her cats. And for all of us. 💜

I have a confession to make. I’ve heard the expression “all orange cats share one brain cell.” But I thought Peach was the exception to the rule. Surely she had brain cells of her own. I spent hours agonizing over whether she was getting enough attention/enrichment, what was she thinking, was she happy? And then last night I saw her attempt to catch her own tail, succeed, scare herself, and jump off the bed with a screech. After I stopped laughing I realized. No cells present at this time—possibly ever. 😹😹😹😹😹
Feels like a good day to bring this back to the main page. Please please please go vote if you haven’t already! Posted @withregram • @kittensfromkatie I’m just saying @jdvance you probably don’t want to piss off the cat ladies. We have battle scars from the murder claws and we’re not afraid to get our hands dirty. Thanks @alinabock for getting this banger stuck in my head! ...#catlady #catladylife #childlesscatladies #childlesscatlady #childlesscatladiesforharris2024 #cats_of_world #catsofinstagram #kittensofinstagram #catmom #fosterkittens #kittensfromkatie
Peach is FIVE today. I found this video in my story archive a few weeks ago and knew it needed a place on the grid for her fifth birthday. I crack me up. I adopted Peach just two weeks before the COVID pandemic shut us down. At first I was stressed, wondering if I’d have to evacuate with a 3-month-old kitten. But as time went on (and on and on) it became clear I’d made the best possible decision. Having this little face to wake up to every day was the only thing that kept the time moving.I always say Jonesy is my baby but Peach is my soulmate. I’m so grateful to whoever birthed her and got her through her first 8 weeks, and whoever found her and surrendered her to Humane Society of Carroll County, Inc.. And to my now-colleague Amanda who emailed me to come foster her “for 3 weeks.” 😹Happy birthday, beautiful girl!
Foster breaks. What are those?? 😹
Last minute post on #nationalblackcatday. No one can say Jonesy HAS the best luck but she IS pure joy. I’ll let her cross my path any day. Love you my little potato.
