Reposting as I couldn’t have said it better to the people that think breeding frenchies is good money

when I charge $3k for a puppy, I'm getting paid essentially $2.33 an hour to raise a puppy for 8 weeks. That doesn't pay for everything I've had to learn and experience in raising a healthy, happy puppy. That doesn't pay for my knowledge (and sleep loss) on having to tube feed a baby every hour around the clock for four solid weeks because it's just too weak to nurse from mom and by the time it can nurse it's siblings are three or more times bigger and just push it out of the way. That doesn't cover the vet bills and food bills for the last 2.5 years because my girl didn't get pregnant when she was bred. Let's not even talk about actually collecting semen from the male because there are plenty of breeders who don't want to jerk off their own dog to get that wonderful baby juice 💦 so someone has to learn how to do it and insert it into the female. Doesn't cover the cost of DNA & health testing the puppies. It doesn't even remotely cover the wear and tear on my washing machine because I'm constantly having to change out bedding because the puppies love to 💩then play in it. So yeah when I sell my four puppy litter for 12k TOTAL, that seems like a nice little sum, but then I have to pay the bills and then I don't even come close to breaking even. So please if you'd like to quit your job (I did) and live on the hope and a prayer that your litter sells (I do and sometimes they don't) then please, by all means stop by and I'll show you were I keep everything for you to take over a job that's so easy that I should just give my pups away out of the goodness of my heart. But remember, there's never a day off, there are no more vacations or sick days, there are lots of missed special occasions because you either can't go at all because you have a litter of puppies or you have to rush in and out because the puppies need to be fed every 2-3 hours and you can't just leave them with the their mom. Anyway, when should I expect you? I'll leave the light on.

Everyone wants to get rich 💰💰breeding until they find out this 🚫isnt 🚫a get rich quick scheme.

📍It's not all puppies and checks💰.
People don't realize the work/expenses that go into this.

The thing people don't understand at all is the fine line a breeder deals with when it comes time to make a business decision. 🤔

Breeders make decisions daily that a PET owner never has to. 👌
Will be posting pups this weekend. Will not be cheap, I will keep them before I give them away as I health and color tested this litter. All are 4 panel health clear and all have or carry color, 2 color fluffy

For those that want a cheap puppy, I kept track for the most part as to what I have in this litter of frenchies so far...
Cost of female. $4500
Stud fee. $1500
Reverse progesterone 2x. $ 320
C-section. $1450
Gas. $ 150
P*e pads to date. $ 180
Butt wipes. $ 30
Disinfecting wipes. $ 15
Hrs pre birth watching 72hrs. $720
1st 2 weeks 24hr days watch $3360
Next 2 weeks 12hr days. $1680
(Was actually more)
Meds/milk. $ 100
Health/color testing. $913

Total to date. $14,918
Which means on average that is $2131 per puppy and still have to add puppy food, litter bedding, vet check, worming, shots and more time.
If you don't think my time is worth $10 an hour then it would still be $1308 per puppy to date.
Also normally you would spread cost of female between all litters but this was her 1st and the way the market/economy is quite possibly her last litter.

I actually got to sleep in my bed last night! Was only about 5 hours and still woke up and checked on them. My son took the night shift last night. I wouldn't be doing this without my kids help.

Babies are so happy! Their room was expanded and they got new toys!

So this is our keeper girl. Shes a lilac Merle that we need help naming. Mom is Medusa and dad is Merlin so we want it to start with an M. So far we have come up with Maui, Moana, Mulan or Maleficent. Let me know what you think of if you have a name idea. Shes tired of being called Itty lol
