My brother Caleb Ratcliffe took me camping. Well, I got in a fight with Mike Tyson’s dog yesterday! Luckily, I don’t need all of my ears to track deer, my nose is still perfect! Longspur Tracking and Outfitting says I’m tough like my sister Truda though!

Bitter sweet day shed hunting today. We found a dead head, the left side of 1 of the bucks I was trying to shoot, and Kipley found her harness that she lost looking for my buck I shot in November. Unfortunately, the dead head was the buck I shot that we didn’t find. Being that I only got 4 inches of pe*******on and as far away as we found it, I’m guessing it lived for a while and maybe just got infected or something. And while driving on the way home, I spotted a road shed, laying in the creek, just 4 tips sticking out of the water. Lol. It was worth getting wet feet for.

Found 2 tonight. Kipley actually found her 1st one ever last week, but evidently I missed the record button and didn’t get it on video like I thought I did. 🤦‍♂️
I love the GWP breed. They are so versatile. Longspur Tracking and Outfitting trained her to not only track wounded deer, but also to find sheds!

Crazy how things happen sometimes. While on our way home from our 1st track today, I got a call from our most repeat customer, Stacey Pellen Horbatak, saying she had shot a buck this morning but wasn’t sure where she hit it. We headed her way and after looking at the arrow and blood nearby, we determined it was worth tracking soon due to the warm temperatures also. Sure enough, Kipley took us right to him about 100 yards away. She got heart and 1 lung, but with the crossbow bolt moving so fast, she just wasn’t sure. Always better to call Longspur Tracking and Outfitting instead of taking a chance on jumping a deer up. Congrats on your 1st Ohio buck! #17!

Got a call last night from a young hunter that we had talked through a non-fatal shoulder shot earlier in the season. This time, he had shot a doe and believed it to be a gut shot. Fighting off his instinct to track it, he back out and got a hold of us. We met him this morning, and even though the rain had washed away all the blood, Kipley of Longspur Tracking and Outfitting took us straight to her about 200 yards away! Congrats on your first deer Michael Paugh! #16 for the season!
