With all of these donation requests during the Great Fish Community Challenge you are probably curious what the funding will be used for. We wanted to share in detail how we plan to use the funds.

Many people don’t realize that the Whitefish Dog Park is a 501c3 Non Profit fully run by a volunteer board of directors and helpful volunteers/donors like you! The Great Fish Community Challenge is our largest source of funding every year and ensures this beautiful resource stays highly useful, safe, fun, and beautiful for so many daily visitors.

USE OF FUNDS:
•implement safety improvements
•installation of a web cam
•bearproof garbage cans to replace current •non-bearproof cans
•complete bridge repairs
•support upgrades and maintenance so that visitors and their dogs can enjoy the park safely.

Our campaign has officially launched! We’re so excited to have you along for the ride.

When you donate through the Whitefish Community Foundation, we’ll get a percentage match, so your donation will go even further!

Last year, thanks to all your donations, we made some amazing improvements to the park. We added a memorial area with a rock landscaping and a place to display memorial plaques for pets who want to “Forever Stay and Play.” We also resculpted the mound and added some new doggie playground equipment.

This year, we’re focusing on a few safety and maintenance issues. We’re replacing the bridge deck with a four-season non-slip material, bear-proofing all the trash containers, re-staining the work sheds and shelter, and installing a public-accessible we**am.

We really appreciate everything you do to make this one of the best dog parks in the country. We also know that the Hugh Rogers Whitefish Dog Park is one of the most used assets in the valley, so we want to make sure it’s always in top shape.

Join us at the Great Fish Launch Party on August 8th at the new Three Rivers Bank in Whitefish. Enjoy apps from Trovare and an assortment of beverages while we kick off the five-week campaign to raise funds for 80 Flathead Valley nonprofits. Donate $100 or more to a single nonprofit at the Launch Party and be entered into a drawing for a chance to win one of 11 $1,000 grants for that organization. Three Rivers Bank of Montana

You make our dreams come true. 🐾 Wow! We are truly humbled and grateful by your generosity, love, and support you showed the dog park during the Great Fish Community Challenge. Over 165 of you gave from the heart and let us know how much this special park means to you. We are a completely volunteer run non-profit park and rely heavily on donations each year. THANK YOU for all you've given. We also know there can be giving fatigue at the end of the challenge and boy did we feel the love. You donated over $41,000 this year! Wooooof! a huge thank you to @whitefishcommunitvfoundation for all their hard work, long hours, coordination, and love. Congratulations to the other 77 well deserving non-profits who benefited from this annual event. This year instead of us thanking you we thought we'd let the dogs say thanks.
