You helped us hit our goal! A HUGE thank you first and foremost to you, the dog park donors. We are able to stay afloat, improve our park, and make necessary repairs.

Last night was the Great Fish Community Challenge awards ceremony where each participating non profit found out what the annual match amount was in this year’s campaign.

We could not be more grateful to , The Circle of Giving, and each individual donor who generously gave to all 80 non profits this year. 🫵🏻🫶🏻

It’s that time of year again! 🧡🖤

Start thinking of costumes for your dogs. This will be our 4th annual dog costume contest and we think it’s going to be the best one yet.

Rules:

-dress your dog in your best/most clever costume ever
-snap one photo of you dog in their costume
-dm the photo to us via Instagram or Facebook
-props,backgrounds, staging welcomed!
-send in your 1 photo by October 29th

Winner will be announced by noon on October 30th.

Saturday morning the main area and pond will be closed (south area will remain open) for City of Whitefish maintenance.

The entire park will reopen in the afternoon.

We are incredibly grateful for you!

YOU helped us raise RUFF-ly $25,000 during the Great Fish Community Challenge and we could not be more grateful. We know money can be tight these days. We know you also donated to so many worthy organizations.

We also know you could skip donating altogether, yet, you showed up, spread your generosity and love.

We are closing in on our goal!

So far you have generously donated:
$15,438 (Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!)

While our goal is officially $40,000

If we can raise even $9,562 more dollars than we have now this will get us to the $25,000
mark.

Any non profits that raise at least $25,000 will get a bonus match from the
fund after the challenge is completed.

See you tomorrow!

Celebrate the 10th annual Great Fish Community Challenge and the incredible work of our nonprofit community by participating in the Great Fish Fun Run! This event features 5K and one-mile courses, yummy BBQ, a nonprofit fair, prizes, and more!

Creativity and costumes are encouraged! Children 12 and under can participate for free. Top male and female finishers in the Great Fish 5K and Great Fish 5K - Para Athlete will receive prizes and recommend a grant to their favorite Great Fish Community Challenge participating nonprofit.

The Great Fish 5K - Para Athlete category is open to individuals with physical disabilities using mobility devices such as handcycles or push-rim wheelchairs.
This year's 5K course is a scenic loop that will take participants along the railroad trestle path to City Beach, up Dakota Avenue to LaBrie, and back down Wisconsin Avenue to finish in the Park. The 1-mile course is the same as last year's course... one lap around the railroad trestle path, starting and finishing in Depot Park. Click here to view the course map.

*Advanced registration is required. There is no day-of registration available.

Per a City of Whitefish ordinance, please note that dogs and other animals are not allowed in Depot Park or on the race course.

Hello park visitors!

Just a heads up: we are scheduled to rebuild the Dog park pond path for next week Monday and Tuesday (August 26 and 27).
Workers will use the south side dog park maintenance gates to access the pond area and Dodger Road.

To enable access to complete the work, we will need the pond area and south side park for the construction. Our intention is to lock the pond and south side gates late on Sunday.

During the construction, the main and small parks will remain open. All the park entry gates will remain open.

We need your help!

Every year we talk to our park users and get feedback on projects that can improve or enhance the park. We were so grateful last year to execute on both a lovely dog memorial where park visitors can pay respect to their lost loved ones and we were also able to greatly improve the obstacle course - all through funds raised during The Great Fish Community Challenge Whitefish Community Foundation. Check out a few photos in this post. Thank you to everyone who donated-you made these projects come to life.

This year one of our most exciting and game changing improvement projects is installing a web cam at the park.

Many of you regularly view the we**ams on Big Mountain, City Beach, and downtown Whitefish. With your donation this year you’ll now be able to view the dog park in addition to those.

Among many other benefits here are a few benefits to a we**am:

• Being able to view the park before you decide to drive over for a visit (weather, ground conditions, other dogs)
•Being able to see how crowded or not crowded the park is
•General safety
•Bonus reason(!): potentially viewing your pooch while your dog sitter takes them for a park session while you’re out of town 🥰

The we**am can only happen with your donation and support. Please consider giving at any level today to help us achieve this goal and bring us one step closer to being the next Whitefish we**am in town. 🐶

You make our dreams come true. 🐾 Wow! We are truly humbled and grateful by your generosity, love, and support you showed the dog park during the Great Fish Community Challenge. Over 165 of you gave from the heart and let us know how much this special park means to you. We are a completely volunteer run non-profit park and rely heavily on donations each year. THANK YOU for all you've given. We also know there can be giving fatigue at the end of the challenge and boy did we feel the love. You donated over $41,000 this year! Wooooof! a huge thank you to @whitefishcommunitvfoundation for all their hard work, long hours, coordination, and love. Congratulations to the other 77 well deserving non-profits who benefited from this annual event. This year instead of us thanking you we thought we'd let the dogs say thanks.
