As a general rule, dogs typically need at least 2 hours of dedicated social time (either with other dogs or with a human). They also should not go more than 6-8 hours by themselves. And don’t forget, this varies greatly between individuals and puppies have much higher needs.

The consequences of not meeting these requirements for your dogs can include distructive behavior, anxiety, and being excessively excited upon your arrival home.

For someone who works all day or has kids, these requirements may seem impossible some days. This is where a walker can come in! Hiring someone to walk your dog during the day is a great way to help meet their requirements; both physically and socially.

I am willing to go the extra mile, and with so many pups with separation anxiety this is a necessity. Some dogs need more than a quick drop in. Maybe they need a kong or other toy fixed up to keep them busy while the sitter is away. Maybe they need extra time during meals so that they feel comfortable eating. Whatever the case, I would love to be the person you trust your pets with!
