We did come home to a new litter in the barn… GC Nina had 4 babies by GC Shifter. Yay for new Tan babies…. Hopefully these will be perfect for our county fair.

It’s soooo good to be back to showing again! Life has been so busy lately that I was not mentally prepared for this show. Usually I’m very organized and have my clipboard for all my notes…. This time I was pretty much flying blind. Guess I’ll wait til the show report arrives to figure out all the placings. I know Casen had both BOB and BOSV at show B, and Lincoln’s ”big black s*xy” (Boss) won BOB for show C. I won the hummingbird feeder my husband told me I wasn’t allowed to win on the raffle table.

We are going to miss several shows this fall due to other commitments. Hopefully things work out and we will be back to the tables soon.

The boys and I ran to Longview for the Friday night show. We brought Tans, himis, and English Spots. I did not expect this show to be sooo busy on a Friday night. English Spots were assigned as a judge’s last breed, but our other two were listed on the “floater breed” board and didn’t get on the table until last. And they were on the table at the same time. I’m grateful Dakota was there to show with me and took care of getting Himis on the table for us. It was a very long show, and an exhausting drive home. We had a mixed bag of results. We needed a leg on our Tan black senior doe, and she took first of black senior does, but couldn’t beat out the junior to get the leg. I was pleasantly surprised with our English spot results. Plus two babies went to their new show homes. So overall a good night on the tables.

Oh my what a busy busy weekend showing in Wichita Falls. We only took 2 breeds - Himalayans and Tans. 3 open shows and 2 specialties. I think there was maybe a 15-20 minute period of time when we didn’t have rabbits on the table Saturday. To say we are worn out would be an understatement. But the weekend went fantastic. So many Tans and great breeders to show with. The Texas Tan Speciality club held the specialty Saturday and I believe we finished out at about 112 rabbits!!!! This was the first show for many of our babies, several of which are still pretty small. I was proud of how they did. I tried to keep notes as best I could on placings but may have missed something. The boys and I showed up in Okemah, Oklahoma today with our Tans and Himalayans. The show ran super smooth, the weather was great, and we came home with a few wins. This was the first show to bring our 1st homegrown litter of Tans from this year as well as our first ever homegrown litter of Himalayans. Show A for Tans felt like a family affair as our homegrown litter of 3 and both parents all won their classes. And even momma’s brother won his class too. Momma, Kyrsta, finished highest in the family with a Best opposite S*x Breed for her 5th leg. She was beat out for Best of Breed by BlueBunny for his 5th leg. Show B finished with our junior black doe Raven winning Best opposite s*x breed and earning her first leg. Raven is one of Kyrsta’s daughters so she’s following in her momma’s tracks.
