This is a proven senior buck out of my all time favorite herd buck. He is short and SO typy. He has placed very competitively and even has a few legs. Forgive him for being dirty! I moved him to the bottom of my 6 hole full of herd bucks and he’s been trying to impress I guess. He will apart of the convention sale list. 😙

Boy it’s sure been a busy few weeks. The rabbits have been sitting for quite some time! I’ve been very busy with work. Working for MSU Extension makes my summers extremely busy. I think I should be able to a hit a table within the next month ( fingers crossed) 🤞Also, mark your calendars for August 26th I’ll be dropping my convention Sale list 🤩

JLC’s Rabbitry Sponsored the Small Animal Showman of Showmen Trophy at the Iosco County Fair. I also got to present it to the winner during the youth livestock auction. These kids were the showmanship winners of their species. They had to show a rabbit, Duck, and chicken in the overall Showman of Showmen.

We wanted to congratulate Aurora on her successful Fair week!

Despite some unfortunate circumstances Monday of fair, that left her with one less market rabbit, she pulled through and still had beautiful rabbits to display!

I had the opportunity to present her with the Small Animal Showman of Showmen Award last night at the auction.

Perseverance is key and the buyer of her pen are receiving exceptional rabbits. Congratulations, Aurora! Thank you, for continuing to choose us every year to help you with your journey! Whether it’s purchasing market rabbits, or breeding animals, to even just messaging for advice! 🍀🫶

Very sad to hear about the passing of Don Havlicek. Don was an incredible mentor & judge in the rabbit world. Every show he would stop and tell me how beautiful my rabbits were. I am wishing is family the deepest condolences during this time.

Majority of our fryers went to their new homes this past week. I had really nice litters this year, so I’m excited to see how they do. Now it’s time to get ready for round two! I have a couple litters in boxes and more due in the next week. Plus, I have some older stock that has stopped production, has health problems, etc. that will be going to freezer camp soon. this will leave me with some more room to grow out litters.

I have a couple of really nice three month old juniors that I would like to put on the show table. I have missed many shows this month and a half due to other commitments. I am missing all of my show family and friends. 🐰

We have a decent amount of retired rabbits here. JLC’s Shine Bright like a Diamond aka Diamond ( 11 GC legs/ registered & Granded) passed away today. This doe was a great mom who produced MANY table winners. She was also a fabulous foster mom and the easiest keeper. She was almost 7 years old! Her and her sister, JLC’s Raven, both have 11 GC legs and were always back-to-back on the show table back when I was a youth member. She will be missed! 🐰

Liddy, our Florida White, and two of the Cals, came up to the Soo with me today to be apart of the Chippewa County 4-H Rabbit Clinic.

Now they are watching TV in a 60 degree hotel room 🥰 Holy Roller, has been in a terrible mood today. I can’t say I blame him. In the past month he’s been to Indiana, Ohio, and around Michigan traveling over 2,000 miles. He’s ready for a break ( I am too)

I wanted to thank Michigan FFA for the opportunity to judge their State Market Rabbit Competition this past Wednesday. It is always fun talking rabbits with the youth!

This Week has been very stressful with some personal things going on, so I’m very glad that I can take some time doing what I love as a stress reliever. See you soon Columbus!
