Today I adopted a human...
It broke my heart to see him so alone and confused. I suddenly saw his watery eyes as he looked into mine. So I barked with all my might and went after him, following from house to house.
Finally, I got close enough to touch his hand with my nose. The man smiled and I felt his heart begin to warm. I moved closer to his face and felt his tears start to flow. I looked at him and he replied with a beautiful smile.
I jumped into his lap excitedly, promising
that I would be fine, that I would love him forever, and that I would never leave
him. How fortunate that he passed by where I was and that we could meet like
that. I felt lucky too.
So many people have been there, but only he, only he, stopped looked at me. I'm
glad he made a choice and that I was able to save his life.
Today I adopted a human.

In Argentina, there's a restaurant called Restobar Dickens, with a sign saying:
"We ask all our customers with all our hearts not to be upset by the number of stray dogs that may be in the restaurant.
We are a pet friendly place and we give water, food and lots of love to these sweet angels.
I'm sorry if it bothers you, but they're not doing anything wrong, they're just looking for food or shelter.
Thank you very much!" ❤️

Good morning!

I thought I'd repost this lovely story...

Today I painted a new residents nails at work and as we were going over colors, she mentioned she wanted clear. The only thought that came to my mind was "CLEAR?! That's no fun." I asked her why she wanted clear and she said, "My hands are ugly, I don't want to draw attention to them." I then carefully responded with, "Your hands tell the story of your life. They tell the story of love, of care and adventure. These hands have touched and held things that most people can only wish to one day." And with that, she went with the color pink for her nails. Sometimes what we are so insecure with, others find beauty in. 💖

Project Texoma's Soups and Socks is coming back for 2022!

For the 4th Year, this event in Wichita Falls not only Benefits Wichita Falls Faith Mission but helps hundreds of homeless individuals in our community!

Despite the loss of one of our tireless founders Shantaya Clarke. We began this mission shortly after Shatanya's arrival in Wichita Falls and wanted to do her part to impact our community.

Will you help Coop continue her legacy of serving others? We need you to continue her legacy of Project Soups and Socks, benefitting the homeless in our community. We all see those in our community with less than struggling to find a roof over their heads. Soups and Socks is your opportunity to make an impact in their lives.

Loretta Lynn was and always will be a national treasure. She not only “pushed the envelope” as the old saying goes…this woman was the envelope filled with stories of life. A real life, as a woman. What it meant to be a woman. To be a wife, to be a mother. Speaking plainly, truth telling, you know…the real s**t. So, by the time her undeniably trail blazing testimonies reached the airways, that thing the music industry described as “pushing the envelope,” Loretta had established herself as an original. The original.

Loretta knew that women could break down walls. And she did, for all women baring their souls and their lives.

I have so many personal stories with Loretta. There is one that makes me laugh every time I think about it. We were at a very big award show and I was onstage getting ready to present and I look down at Loretta and she is yelling at me “Hey, honey. I love you so much, honey.” She didn’t care about where we were, because, you see, when Loretta Lynn calls your name, the world stops for a moment.

After the award presentation, I jumped down off the stage and went straight to Loretta and gave her the biggest hug and told her I loved her too.

We love you Loretta.

PS. When my song “Take Me As I Am” went #1, Loretta sent this photo to me: “To my Baby, I told you you’d get #1, didn’t I? I love you, Honey”
