This growing young lady, Zea, made her puppy (BPUP) debut this past weekend at the Sunflower Cluster in Hutchinson, KS.
I was beyond proud of her 2 group 1sts we achieved together, as well as her group 1st and 3rd in BPUP and a B Match with a couple of friends handling her!
She is fun and games, and I adored spending more time with her. Looking forward to more shows and sports in the future with her!
Side Note: Zea (pronounced "Z") means Wheat and Life. She's the color of ready to harvest Kansas wheat, and her registered name holds meaning for our kennel as well. She was a bit of an unnoticed oddball in her litter, and carries her daddy's color, and her momma's temperament. I didn't notice her much at first but she spoke volumes to me with her evaluation at 7 weeks, and I couldn't let her leave. So happy with that decision!

Miss Bailey was reserved for a family who had some unexpected turn of events, and she now is in search of her forever home.
:)
She tested incredibly well on her temperament evaluation, and would fit into almost any situation with ease!
She adores exploring and affection, and learns very quickly.
CAER eye check done, vet checked, microchipped, utd on shots, started well on crate training, etc.

These 3 hooligans had birthdays this past week!
Lots of love and snacks were had.
and both turned 3, and 2. We are so proud of them all, their goofy personalities, and the contributions they've made to our program already!
Opal has her BCAT, and has blessed us with some lovely babies with incredible minds and genetic health. She keeps all the babies in line out here, hers or not, and nothing on the farm happens without her knowing. She's a gentle but confident girl.
Summer is our peewee and Jr. Showmanship dog in residence. She got our foot in the door in conformation, which we are so greatful for, and has the best working shut off I've seen in a dog.

Update: Has a Home!
This special sweetheart is available to the right home!
She's a darling personality. Fun, bubbly, playful! She LOVES a good game of fetch, and brings the toys back for more already. Just a joy of a young lady.

The last of our Opal/Enzo babies are finally headed out to their new homes in Iowa and New York!
We are going to miss these smart, fun-loving babies for sure. 🥰 Thank you to their new owners for giving them such bright futures!

These lucky kids have been learning so much this last week! Transitioning to solids, hearing lawn mowers and outdoor noises, climbing up on rocks and into the flower beds, chasing the kids and momma around...
Lots going on this next couple of weeks.
Most of these pups are already spoken for, but we will post availability as we know more.

Happy Easter!!
We celebrate a Risen Lord today!
And yesterday, we celebrated our new Champion, Enzo!
He is now, pending AKC approval...

Thinking of his beloved and missed breeder, Lily Russell of Tango Collies, and how proud we would have been to share this happy news with her this weekend. Much thanks will always go to her for providing us with such a happy boy!
A thank you also goes to Judge Dr Steven Keating for awarding us this final Major win to complete this title!
Enzo will now get to focus his multitudes of energy on some sports he is showing lots of interest in! Keep an eye out for his career choices. 😉

Flew one of my sister's babies out to PA today! Not only was this pup a perfect angel on both her plane rides there, but she has reportedly fit Right in, feeling at home and her personality just exploding within a couple hours! ❤️ (Miremel here was chosen to be a demo dog for her mom's training program)
We do our best to prepare our pups for these kinds of travel experiences and transitions, but this pup has blown me away! It's like she just knew instantly that she was home and that she met her forever person. 🥹
Shout out to my sister again on this litter, and a huge thank you to this pup's new momma!

A collie's expression is changed so drastically by their ears... when the ears are set right, the balance falls into place.
Lots I'm not going to say about ear/eye placement that also very much affects the correct expression, but just wanted to share this before and during of the process. I certainly am blown away every time by how much it does for their expression when the ears are sitting in the correct place.

These 2 babies are searching for folks who want a collie, without all the coat to brush. ❤️ They are my sister's pups.
They're both very outgoing, with adventurous personalities, though constantly checking in with their people.
The sable is a male, Thorn.
The white sable is a female, Ismira.

The pure joy and love from these kiddos about their surprise puppy... Made My Whole Month! I couldn't tell if the puppy, or those girls were more excited!
This is why we wait and screen for the right homes, why we breed for health and correct temperament and test those things on our puppies, why we go to such lengths to socialize and expose the babies to so many new things in their early weeks... 🥹🥹🥰 This transition was a breeze for this little guy, and he is matched so well with his new family.
Blessed by these sweet people in Nevada, and the opportunities to hand deliver so many of my pups to their new forever people! It's always a long day away from family/farm/kennel when we fly, but it's Always worth it.
Thank you to all our Puppy's families again!!!!

XRAYs to count puppies in utero prior to due date is SO important to me!
In this instance, it actually saved lives because I KNEW momma was not done.
When this girl only delivered 4 of the 5 babies I knew she was expecting, and then decided to rest, one might have assumed it was due to her having delivered all her expected babies. But when nothing could get her contractions started back up again to help that last puppy out after her nap, I made the call to one of our Fantastic Veterinarian teams, who were ready and willing to do what they do best, and save the day!
Fast forward through that entire sleepless night of labor and delivery, along with the following day of emergency surgery and bouncing back from anesthesia, and we have ALL 5 of our lovely new arrivals, Thriving! AND we have a sweet, nurturing momma who we know isn't running the risk of retained puppies or placental. ❤️
Enjoy some newborn photos of said momma and lucky number 5, bonded as if nothing ever happened, as well as the lovely radiograph taken by one of our other local veterinarians.

They've gotten so big, and learned so much in these short 8 weeks!

Hard to believe they're soon to head off to their new adventures with all the lovely folks who found them, and chose to give them the BEST forever homes. ❤️
SO A HUGE THANK YOU to ALL the people who make this process so wonderful! From our Veterinarians, Vet Techs, Opthamologist, Trainer and Evaluator, our Children and Husband, and of course New Families!!!! You all are amazing!
This bunch are ALL OFA CAER Normal Eyed, as well as Normal or clear on collie panel health tests via the parents' results!
They've been temperament evaluated, vet checked, microchipped, and opthamologist checked.
Those with Deposits have now made their choices, and we have 3 very Pretty babies left looking for homes of their own, so reach out!

This week has gone by so fast!!!! Between goats kidding early on the farm and needing intervention, to health records and microchipping, to introducing the babies to things such as the teeter, powerwasher sounds, play jym, gravel roads, cats, brooms, and overnight crating, we have been so busy!
Today is Temperament test/Herding test day for the babies. Our ducks are mostly Pekins, so if these puppies decide to move them around the pen, they're BRAVE 😂👀👏

Yesterday they celebrated 5 weeks of age with a gorgeous late afternoon outdoors!
First time seeing the real world, and they explored and ran and tripped and jumped like they were born out there! A very entertaining event for us all 🤣😍

Ps. A bunch of these puppies are spoken for by deposit. We will know which are still up for homes after their CAER OFA eye checks at the end of this month. (All Normal Eyed for CEA by parentage though)

These babies catch on QUICK! It's been a wild week of growth, and we are excited to be getting closer to meeting our new patient families!

ENS with Skye's puppies, day 1
ENS Day 1! Did you know Puppies are born blind AND deaf? That's right, their EARS don't open for the first 2 weeks of their lives as well. This leaves them to function mainly off of smell and touch for 2 entire weeks. Here you see a wiggly wiggly 3 day old pup, who doesn't seem to enjoy these exercises, but this is what Early Neurological Stimulation is all about! Training their brains to accept gentle environmental and physical stressers without their braining responding negatively or shutting down because of it.
