SHILOH HAS A HOME!!!!
Shiloh was our momma that had a gun shot wound and was paralyzed. She's starting to walk, she loves to play and really loves nap time because she gets snuggles. So here's an update on our mama Shiloh that was shot and paralyzed. SHE'S WALKING!!! She's starting to try to use the litter box. This is so amazing. HUGE THANK YOU for all of your thoughts, prayers, donations. She's just the sweetest. We couldn't do what we do without your support. Her amazing foster mom sent this video today.

Here's some cuteness for today. Shinobi and the new toy I bought yesterday. Our kitten with 1 eye from the gunshot momma Shiloh.
If anyone is interested in donating items, we are in need of Iams dry kitten food, and Sheba pate - that's Shiloh's favorite, bed pads-disposable and washable, and funds for vet visits. Cleaning supplies and laundry soap are also a huge help.

🐾🐈⬛🖤 Felix (formerly MHH #1) Update 🖤🐈⬛🐾
Our amazing foster went and picked MHH #1 up from the vet this morning and got him home safe and sound. He tested negative for FIV/FeLK 🙌, and received his vaccinations, during his stay at the vet. After MHH #1 destressed a little,from his quiet overnight stay at the clinic, he allowed the vet to exam his eye wound, and our vet determined that our poor boy's eye is not able to be saved. It was so damaged that our vet could not even determine whether it was due to injury, infection, or if he was just born that way, but knows that it needs to be surgically removed. This particular vet does not do this type of eye surgery, but our other vet does, so we are working with them to see how quickly we can get his surgery scheduled. He will also need to be neutered, but they will do this at the same time he has his eye surgery.
His new foster mom sent us a video of him, getting settled in to his new home and she announced that his name is now Felix!!!
So welcome to Joy, handsome boy, Felix! We're so sorry for the life of abuse and squallor that you've been forced to live in, prior to coming here, but we promise you that the rest of your nine lives will be spent knowing only kindness, compassion and love, from here on out! 💕

🐾🐈⬛❤️MHH #1 has arrived for his vet appointment! 🐾🐈⬛💕
🐾Update 🐾 MHH #1 was very scared and frightened, and suffering from shelter shock, so our vet is going to keep him overnight to help him decompress from the nightmare world he's been living in.
In the morning, he will give our poor boy a full exam, determine the cause of and treatment necessary for his eye trauma, test him for FeLV/FIV, and get his vaccinations updated. Then he will be off to recovery with his amazing foster Mom and family! 💕

The Story of our Joy Princess, Stormy
Stormy became a Joy Kitty in 2017, when she showed up at the front door of one of our wonderful volunteers, Betty's, one day. Betty hoped she was just lost and hung flyers and checked with all of her neighbors, but was unable to find her owners. She was unable to bring Stormy inside her own home, but she set her up a little cat house in her backyard, and provided her food and water, while she continued her search for Stormy's family. A couple of weeks after she showed up at her door, Betty was outside, petting Stormy, and she saw that she had developed several raw open wounds along her back and sides. Seeing this, Betty knew she needed to get poor Stormy off the streets and into a safe place, so that she would get the medical help she so desperately needed. She contacted Joy, and when Jerri heard little Stormy's story, she said bring the poor girl here.
Once we had Stormy seen at the vet, she was diagnosed with overgrooming, probably brought on by the stress of being abandoned on the streets, but once she got settled in at Joy's shelter, her wounds healed, and she didn't have any overgrooming reoccurrences until she developed her hyperthyroidism, two years ago. But her sores cleared up quickly again, once we got her going on her Thyroid medication.
During her time here at the shelter, Stormy's sweet nature, dainty features, and her habit of laying in the highest bed in the room, to look down upon her little kingdom, with those eyes that can see straight through to your soul, earned her the nickname Princess! And such a graceful ruler she was! She became instant Room Mom to every kitten that entered her room, and those kittens always left for their forever homes with an extra little dose of sweetness, thanks to our girl, Stormy!
We so badly hoped to find our Joy Princess a castle of her very own one day, but sadly, Stormy's time ran out too soon.😿
