Maxima Clams are one of the most beneficial creatures to add to your reef aquarium. Especially those that like to keep fish with your reef. They are a high processing filter feeder that will assist in filtering nitrates and detritus… however it is also very important you have an established biological tank with sufficient lighting as clams are photosynthetic and require periodic feeding of phytoplankton to sustain their zooxanthella population.
