🌳 Downed Tree 🌳
This video gives you a better idea of how BIG this tree is! The photos don't do it justice. It's blocked the entrance to our property gate but at least volunteers and caretakers can get in and out. Here is one of our awesome caretakers who is demonstrating just how massive the tree really is. 😅🙏

Remember little Luna the Sugar Glider? Well she and Ayla were both transferred to Sugar Haven Rescue over the weekend and they are doing so well. Luna has been adopted and here she is, bonding with her new sister. 💗 Ayla will likely be paired up with a neutered male due to her spicy attitude. Lol I want to express my gratitude to Leah who runs Sugar Haven Rescue as well as Samantha, the foster/volunteer who is adopting Luna. They are far more experienced than I am when it comes to these adorable little marsupials. 🥰 It is such a wonderful thing when rescues can come together to help one another. Lego the Sulcata tortoise has finally arrived at our rescue. ❤️
This morning I soaked some Timothy hay, Mazuri LS Tortoise pellets and cut up some prickly pear cactus for breakfast. Unfortunately Lego here is used to a poor diet of mainly lettuce which has no nutritional value. This has made him quite picky when offered healthier foods. He totally turned his beak up at what I made for him today.. 🥺 lol I'll be getting some lettuce and cover with healthier foods to trick him into eating. Kinda like a "pill pocket" for dogs. 😆
Little Lego will be seeing the vet for a checkup soon and once he gets a health clearance, he will be available for adoption. 🙏💗

Meet Mikayla (Mik for short), the Nigerian Dwarf goat. She was surrendered today and unfortunately has a dislocated or broken leg. 🥺💔 We have her set for a vet appointment to get radiographs done asap so we can assess what the issue is and figure out a treatment plan. The owner was kind enough to also surrender her best gal pal, Katie (Kat for short). Vetting will not be cheap for her but please, if you are able to, consider donating towards little Wini's vet bills. 😱 OMG So this happened yesterday 😱
So yesterday I bought a used shed off of marketplace from a man that was willing to deliver it right away. As we were pulling the shed off of the trailer, we found KITTENS!! 3 tiny kittens huddled in a ball together on the trailer. Their eyes have just barely started opening so almost a week old. The guy would not take them back to his place. I asked some friends to post on FB to help find a mama cat nursing young kittens and thanks to the wonderful kitten fosters at the Marion County FL SPCA, the kittens are now safe. Definitely an unexpected turn of events. 😅

How could anyone resist this little lady and her adorable head tilt? 😍
Scooter the Senegal is the sweetest little bird ever! She is 28yo but you would never know it. She loves to hang out and snack with her favorite human. She enjoys climbing around and playing with crinkly stuff like paper balls. Lol Little lady does enjoy vocalizing, whistling and contact calling with people. She has always been clipped and may never fly due to a lifetime of not flying but that doesn't stop her from living her best life and enjoying her days. Scooter is fully vetted and disease tested. She is ready to begin her adoption trial with her potential forever home. 💕
Senegals can live into their 30s and even 40s! Ms. Scooter is as healthy as can be for her age and should hopefully live another decade or so. This is a great option for someone who is unable to commit to the 20-30 years that this species usually lives for.
