Giving for Getty ๐Ÿ“Williamsport, PA - Kitten/Cat Fostering & Dog/Cat/Wildlife Transport services. Getty came in to our lives and changed us through love and loss.

From darkness came light when Giving for Getty was born to help us honor him through acts of service. As time & funds allow, we periodically provide handmade jewelry to a nonprofit animal rescue or foster program. Our time and jewelry will be donated free of charge. The individual or organization will retain 100% of all monies made from jewelry sales. These funds will be used to offset the costs o

f their rescue and TNR (Trap Neuter Return) work. Along with our jewelry fundraising initiative, Giving for Getty also provides kitten and cat fostering services. Our focus is on adult cat adoptions & friendly-feral rehabilitation. We are currently accepting healthy, weaned kittens and cats. This arrangement allows rescues to provide space to neonates and cases requiring serious medical attention. We also love volunteering for cat or dog transports! Donations made directly to Giving for Getty will be used for cats in foster and to purchase jewelry supplies to keep our mission moving forward. PayPal : [email protected]

Can any rescues help? ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿฝ

Tux has FIP. His panleuk was false positive.

I cannot take on another outrageous vet bill by buying FIP drugs for the course of 84 days. I do not currently have the space to house him for that long, and I do not have the time with all the ones on my schedule now, to make sure he gets the meds at the exact time every day.

Tux is incredibly sick. His owner was hoping to get him back but she knows financially she is in a bad spot.

Is there another rescue out there willing to take him on??

If not , he will have to be laid to rest. There is no absolute guarantee this boy will survive even with treatment.

This is killing my heart.

Bunnie was saved from the poison house and she has come leaps and bounds from the scared, untrusting baby she once was. She was terrified of humans, rightfully so after the torture she endured.

She is now a chipper, loving, playful little lady!

Happy Adoption Day, Atlas! ๐Ÿ˜ปโค๏ธ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿฝ

Atlas came to me back in August from the house where the owner was using every kind of poison imaginable to kill all of the cats on his property. He was lifeless, lying on the ground, too weak and sick to even run away when we approached. I brought him home knowing he was in bad shape, but not prepared for what we were about to go through.

Atlas was weak, gasping with each breath he took while bloody discharge poured from his nose and eyes. This kitten was nearing 5 months old and weighed only 2 pounds upon intake. He was emaciated, dehydrated, crawling with fleas and we couldnโ€™t even begin to guess what kind of poisons he had been fed by that monster.

Atlas was placed in quarantine for the protection of the other cats and I began aggressively treating his symptoms. Antibiotics, steroids, subcutaneous fluids, B12 injections, appetite stimulants, dewormer, flea treatmentsโ€ฆ you name it, I threw the book at him.

Atlas didnโ€™t eat for ten days.

Every time I would fall asleep for a few hours, I held my breath returning back to his kennel to make sure he was alive. I watched him on a camera strapped to his kennel every moment I could, praying to see the rise and fall of his fur telling me he was still alive. I prepared myself every day for his death while continuing to pour my blood, sweat, tears and my literal soul into this cat to keep him alive.

I did what I always thought was unimaginable for me. I gave him a timeline. I said out loud that if he did not improve in x amount of time, I had to force myself to euthanize him and stop his suffering.

I kept working. I experienced the loss of two other kittens in the midst of Atlasโ€™ care and the only thing that kept me emotionally and physically going, was knowing that Atlas needed me to keep working. Every day I kissed him and held him so tight and told him I would never stop fighting for his life. Every day was the same, medications and love. Medications and love. Over and over. Begging for him to please turn the corner.

He didnโ€™t stop fighting and neither did I.

On day 12, Atlas sprang to life and ate food for the first time while he had been in my care. I was never so happy to see a cat eat in my life. I was cautiously optimistic and stayed the course. Medications and love. Each day he became stronger. The fighting spirit inside of this cat is unbelievable. He is truly a miracle. He turned into the most playful, cuddly boy with the goofiest personality!

He made it. We made it, Atlas. We kept each other alive and you taught me so much. I will save more lives just like yours because of what I had to learn to keep you in this world.

As Atlas makes his way to his forever home today, I thank him for making me a better human.

I have been keeping a secret! ๐Ÿ™ƒ
If you remember, I finally accomplished trapping the Queen of my colony and spaying her back in September. Well, Mama had 5 tiny babies when I trapped her. She was gracious enough to allow me to kennel her for three weeks so that I did not have to bottle feed them. I released her back into my colony and itโ€™s time to introduce her beautiful babies. They are now 8 weeks old and we are accepting deposits from approved adopters. These kittens will be ready to head to their forever homes at the end of November once they are spayed/neutered and fully vaccinated.

Half of the poison cats have shown me that they are very friendly and earned more freedom to play. These four are a little spicy still but give me a few more days and I will turn them to the sweet side. They are all recovering and learning how to be kittens for the first time. #fosteringsaveslives

Though this has been a tough week of loss, there is still so much to be thankful for. Ten kittens from the poisoning site are still alive and fighting! This has been a battle for all of us and I am not giving up on these kittens. We are not out of the woods yet but these cats are happy and know they are incredibly loved. My heart is broken to say that my former foster, Big Ben passed away peacefully in his forever home. My deepest condolences to his family. I am forever grateful that his family chose him and loved him so very much. I loved Ben deeply, he was one of the most special cats I have ever met. His forever family was absolutely perfect for him.
