Love is in the air. It's nearly Valentine's Day.

Remember to keep your chocolate treats away from your dogs.

If you think your dog has ingested chocolate, keep an eye out for any of the following symptoms:
Vomiting
Diarrhea
Drinking excessively
Hyperactivity
Pacing
Shaking
If your fur baby is showing these symptoms, they may be suffering from the effects of chocolate consumption. In this case it is best to take them to your local veterinarian or veterinary emergency clinic immediately.
Before heading out the door, make sure to grab any remaining packaging from the chocolate treats to help your veterinarian understand what kind of chocolate it was and how much your dog may have ingested.
Be safe and Happy Valentine's Day.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO YOU AND YOUR PET(S).

If you like a traditional feast with a big turkey as the main dish, your pet is in luck. There are quite a few ways you can prepare some of your leftover turkey that will be paw-licking good. Be sure to remove any skin and bones and don’t serve your pet any turkey that’s been sitting out longer than two hours to avoid risk of salmonella poisoning. Skinless, boneless turkey is a great treat for most cats and dogs. Cut up a few pieces and add it to your dog’s regular food to give it its own Thanksgiving meal. For cats, try pureeing turkey with sweet potatoes or pumpkin and adding it to their regular food or letting them lick it straight from the spoon. And if you’ve ever wondered what to do with turkey giblets, try boiling them up for a yummy pet treat.

Fall is quickly approaching. Here are some important things to consider when thinking about fall pet safety.
• Ticks: Although tick nymphs peak in the spring months, the number of adult deer ticks is higher in the fall than it is during any other part of the year. Deer ticks are the ticks that are responsible for spreading Lyme disease—which can be just as much of a danger for you as it is for your pet. Ticks prefer to live in long grass, so giving your lawn a good manicure can help keep your tick problem under control.
• The changing of seasons is a great time to check your pet ID tags and microchip. Just take 5 minutes to make sure all your pet's information is up to date and in proper order.
• Make holiday arrangements with Your Pet Nanny NOW. As the holidays approach, we will get busier and possible have to travel. Take time out and plan ahead so you can make holidays easier on your pets.

We will have a vendor booth at DogFest Saturday, Sept. 10. Come See Us.
DOGFEST is a celebration of dogs and their owners at the Arise Church Community Dog Park in Pinckney, Michigan. Come enjoy six hours of fun with your dog on Saturday, September 10th including paws on activities, see the latest products and services for your dog, enjoy dog demonstrations, plus - we've even got things for your kids or grandkids to do. The entry fee is just $15 per vehicle, or just $10 with an on-site dog food donation to the Gleaners Pet Pantry. The proceeds of DOGFEST will go to maintenance or improvements of the Arise Church Community Dog Park, or to fund future DOGFEST events. It is NOT a fundraiser for the church.

I am seeking to hire a reliable, trustworthy Pet Nanny in the Brighton/Pinckney/Ann Arbor area. You must love animals and be willing to spoil them.
The business is growing and I am looking for someone who can be available at different times throughout the days, nights and weekends. I will run a background check and train you on visits. You will get paid per visit. I offer holiday bonuses as well.
This is great for someone who wants extra income, but flexibility with your schedule is key. Please message me or share this post if you know of someone who would be perfect for this position.
