*Long post warning* *NFS* Sorry it has been so long since my last post ! We have discussed sharing our unfortunate & sad news about our last litter of fuzz balls. We encountered something that had affected Akeelah's whole litter after their first early vaccine - "Parvo only" vaccine. The whole litter started having tremors and we treated them as soon as we noticed something was wrong. I originally thought "hypoglycemia" as it can cause tremors & seizures. We immediately went to a vet that could work us in, but lost the first puppy before we got there. At the vet we pulled fecals, checked for Guardia etc. -All Negative. The vet was puzzled, and went through the checklist of the things that had been given to puppies. That vet believed they all had some sort of reaction to the parvo only vaccine. He proscribed fluids, penicillin, vitamin b, & Dexamethasone. We believed the 2 puppies mostly affected was doing better. Sadly they took a turn for the worst despite our extreme efforts. My personal vet told me he believes something bacterial had got into the main tank (main tank can hold 10 vaccines). Due to a series of unfortunate events we lost 3 puppies out of our last litter and had to refund /move deposits for those 3 new homes. This isn't something that happens regularly, it was very sad and heartbreaking on all sides. I have personally been a mess & slightly overwhelmed! I just wanted to inform everyone on our experience with this last litter & why you haven't got to see much of this litter. We have 4 puppies remaining and we believe they were least affected & have recovered fully. They are just tiny, so we are keeping them an extra week to make sure all is well!
