Have a Happy New Year!!!!!!
Meet Mowgli 🐶❤️
These terriers have gotten such a bad wrap and that stereotype couldn’t be more inaccurate as it is with Mowgli. He’s such a lover but he needed some obedience training as this family has a new addition to the family any day now. You can have the best or worst trainer come into your home and train your dog, or you can send your dog away to a board and train facility but the responsibility will always fall back on the owners to be consistent and habitualize the behaviors you want your dog to exhibit. After working with Mowgli & his parents for a week I was very proud to see him looking for direction and following the cues his dad gives him. It makes me very happy to help create such a great bond between human and dog and to give them both the tools to be successful in that relationship
Meet Regan 🐶❤️
She is a 5 month old Golden Retriever and a super smart cookie! While all breeds have their breed standards they are still all individuals, and Regan is a little rockstar! Prior to our week of training she knew “sit” and “spin,” but she quickly picked up all the cues I taught her and would be a prime candidate for service dog training. I give her more credit than I give myself for her ability to quickly pick up what we worked on. Her parents encountered me and my dog who I walk off leash pretty much everywhere and they wanted to have a dog that could do the same, I’m positive they have the perfect pup to achieve that goal!

Meet Luna 🐶❤️
Luna is a rescue who came from unknown environments. She was skittish and knew zero obedience cues. She was terrified of her crate and had separation anxiety, her owners had lots of trouble getting her to go in her crate and said they often had to pick her up and physically put her in there. She has made tremendous improvements after only one week of training, she shows a much more comfortable behavior with her crate and goes inside on cue. Now she and her favorite humans have a much better relationship because she is such a rockstar. Maintenance is very important and life long but Luna was eager to work for her rewards and is a very smart and incredibly sweet dog.
Frenchies are a difficult breed to train. They don’t really have a “job” as they’re breed to look cute and due to being brachycephalic and short statured they don’t require much exercise. They are very smart but can be stubborn. If not mentally stimulated and not properly socialized there can be many behavioral issues. Of course these “problems” are only problems in the human world and not in the dogs world so acceptable behavior varies in different homes. Gus was the boss of the house and the yard and had almost zero cues to follow in his repertoire other than “sit.” After 4 hours in one week Gus has added watch me, down, come, stay, and wait. Learning is a life long process in humans as is with dogs and continued exercises by all dog owners, regardless of breed, will produced great results and a better relationship between you and your dog.
