Cute Winnemucca is our kitten of the day! She's 6 months old and has a sister called Sacagawea. She's playful, loving and sweet. Right now her adult teeth are coming through, so we are helping her out with dental wipes and greenie treats. She has unique coloring and will make a great addition to any home. Wendy Darling was part of our Peter Pan themed litter 4 years ago. She was adopted out as a kitten. When the family had a baby, she started acting out, so they surrendered her back to us. Needless to say, we would like to see her in a calm home with no kids. She isn't very tolerant of other cats either. She doesn't seem to mind her foster dog, as long as he doesn't bug her. She is VERY social with humans. She's chatty and silly. Adoption applications are available at felinematchmakers.org, then we can schedule a meeting with her.

Playful Haribo is our kitty of the day. At 4 months old, we have had him and his litter since they were weened. He is very social and loving. Haribo is currently fostered with his brother, Wrigley. His other siblings that are available for adoption are Tootsie Roll, Nestle and Bazooka. We only adopt young kittens in pairs when there is not already a kitty in the home. They socialize better and have less behavioral issues later. If you are over 21 and live in the Wilmington, NC area, you can start with an application from felinematchmakers.org. Once we have an application, we will schedule a meeting at Mayfaire PetSmart.

Today's featured kitty is Gambit. He's 8 months old and has been with us since August 2024. He was terribly shy at first, but now he is a lovable goof ball. He's full of personality and loves playing with other kitties and adores his foster dog friend. Gambit is currently staying at Mayfaire PetSmart for a couple of weeks. He is usually shy at meetings, but we promise, once he settles in to your home, you won't be able to get him off your lap. You can meet Gambit by appointment by first filling in an adoption application from felinematchmakers.org. You must be over 21 and live in the Wilmington, NC are to adopt. If you are over 70, you must have a younger cosigner on our adoption agreement who would be willing to take the cat should the cat outlive you.

Continuing our 30 cats in 30 days feature, we would like to introduce you to Gordo! Possibly the cutest thing ever, Gordo was born to a stray mom who loved her kittens and took very good care of them. Gordo weened naturally and is a happy, healthy, 3 month old boy. It's important to note that kittens this young are only adopted out in pairs if there are no other cats already in the home. Gordo is currently fostered with Tootsie Roll (a 4 month old tuxedo girl,) who he loves to play with. He has also grown up with dogs. Indie Jones has grown since we took this picture, but he's at Mayfaire PetSmart right now, waiting for someone to notice him. Indie is 6 months old now and still chocka full of energy! He needs to be in a home with another playful kitty or one of his foster friends. A family with kids who will keep him busy would be ideal. He's fine with nice dogs. We only adopt young kittens like Indie to homes that already have a cat or who will adopt him with a friend, as studies show that kittens are less likely to develop behavior issues later in life if they have a buddy to grow up with. Long story, but this 13 year old ended up at a shelter when the icky person got impatient with 2 rescue groups trying to help. We pulled her and fostered her for another rescue group who will transport her today to a cat cafe in Virginia. Penny is safe and will soon have a loving home of her own!

Meet Tootsie Roll! She is the sweetest and cutest tuxedo girl on the planet! Right now, she is hanging out at a foster home with Gordo so they can go to PetSmart together as friends later this month. But maybe she and Gordo will find a home before that happens? Tootsie has 2 siblings currently at Mayfaire PetSmart, Bazooka and Nestle. Haribo and Wrigley are also available for adoption, so if you want 2 kittens, we have plenty to choose from! Tootsie and her siblings are 4 months old. Ace is an 8 month old boy who came from a feral colony, along with Wolverine and Gambit. Ace took some time to warm up, but now he's a social monster! He wants plenty of lap time, loves playing with other kitties, and will give you love nibbles if you don't comply to his requests for love. Ace is a big boy already and if you like big cats, this guy is for you!

Today's kitty of the day is Nestle! Nestle is currently at Mayfaire PetSmart with his sister, Bazooka. We only adopt young kittens in pairs when there is no other kitty already in the home, so if that's the case for you, this is an awesome pair to adopt. Nestle and his 5 siblings were taken from a feral mom who had her kittens under a porch. We took them on just as they started eating kibble and they socialized quickly. Caramel is one of the sweetest Torties we have ever had. She is playful and well socialized. She is FIV+. FIV is an immune virus that is only contagious through deep bite wounds or in*******se. This is extremely unlikely with this sweet girl, so we have no reservations about her living in a home with another nice cat. FIV cats generally live normal, long lives as long as they are kept inside and see a vet regularly (a preference for ALL our adopted kitties!) As a matter of fact, our friend has a 13 year old FIV boy, going strong! Caramel is a small 7 month old female raring to have a comfortable, loving home.
