Happy 11th Birthday to our Ozzie. He continues to be our guard jack, barking at birds and squirrels even though he often can't see them, but senses they are there. He came to us as a Russell Rescue of the Carolinas foster, and decided quickly that we would be his pack. Thanks to Michael Phillips for asking us to give him a new, more active life! Love this boy!

Update: PilotsNPaws volunteers have graciously offered to get Rosie to her new life in 🌞 Florida! We need a volunteer on SEPTEMBER 4th (next Wednesday) to get her from Wilmington to Ocean Isle Beach airport by 8am. Please let us know ASAP!

Sweet Senior Rosie needs a lift this weekend. It’s a big travel weekend so we’re hoping one of our fantastic volunteers is heading South and has room for one more little old gal😁. Moving her from Wilmington NC to the Orlando FL area. We have a volunteer who can meet in Florence SC. Can you help?

Looking for transport for a senior (16yo) from Myrtle Beach Beach towards Wilmington NC this weekend (Saturday or Sunday). Female was surrendered to the Berkeley County AS and the shelter may have a volunteer to move the dog from Moncks Corner to Myrtle this weekend. Available for adoption: Benny!

Benny is currently being temp fostered in Wilmington NC, awaiting his May 30th neuter appointment. Benny was found during a welfare check in a home with his deceased owner. Benny and his friend both ended up at the shelter and both were rescued! Benny is an approximate 7 year old terrier mix, roughly 16 # and the happiest little dude with the best facial expressions. He adores his human, will stick by your side and wants all the attention. He is currently in a foster home with four Jack Russells ranging from 2 to 13 years and enjoys running Zoomies with the rest of them or chilling on the couch. In true terrier style he will alert you to the evil dog walkers or roll around in the grass outside enjoying the sunshine. Benny is up to date on vaccines, HW negative, and microchipped! Benny enjoys walks, car rides, being social, and his human! Benny does use a doggie door and will need patience learning any new routines. Benny did wear a belly band when he first came to foster but learned the doggie door in under two weeks and can now be trusted to not be crated when his human is not home (with the open doggie door).

**Courtesy Post**Urgent Need**Dog Not With Rescue**

**Contact rescued dog from neighbor but needs to find dog home/rescue as she is going into assisted living**

Location: Forest City, NC (Rutherfordton, NC)

Rocky, 7-8 yrs ~20 lbs Jack Russell-chihuahua mix. Seemingly blind, not neutered, crate trained. Indoor dog, gets along with other dogs his size. Can't be trusted around cats or Chihuahuas. HE IS A CLIMBER OVER 7 FT FENCES,WILL DIG OUT UNDER FENCES.HE NEEDS AN ENCLOSED KENNEL TO RUN FREE IN. Needs update on shots, doesn't like being alone. Not totally house broken yet. Very gentle, not aggressive in any manner towards people. Children unknown.

Being blind, he is clingy, klutzy, alert, aims to please. So much potential. He likes to be hugged. Shreds his toys. Not an outdoor dog. Has good start on leash training. Teeth look good and are pretty white. He is humble. Please help me find him a home.

Hi, my name is Lilly. I'm up to date with my vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped, and I just had a dental! I’m 11 years old (1/28/2013) but don’t let my age fool you. I enjoy being an active girl. I love to go for walks, being out exploring the yard, chasing deer away from the fence, and chewing on my toys. I have quickly learned how to use a doggy door and enjoy going out to sit on the porch and soak in the sun. I would enjoy a fairly active home and walk well on a leash. I do well in a crate but would prefer not to be left alone in one all day. I’ve experienced a lot of big changes recently and am looking for someone who can take their time helping me adapt to a new home and new routine. I am a great couch snuggler and project supervisor. I would do well with another dog in the home but would prefer them to be the more laid back, non-dominant type. My prey drive is a little too high for a home with cats. A home with older children would be fun but I’m still learning about taking treats gently and might not be a good fit around younger children only because I can grab at food a little too quickly. I am being fostered in Knightdale, North Carolina.

Hi there! My name is Bart and I am a handsome senior JRT. I weigh about 25 pounds, am neutered, and am UTD on my vaccinations. I had one owner my whole life until she went into a nursing home and couldn't take me with her. I am a well behaved boy who goes to the door when I want to go out. I walk well on a leash and love to be outside. I arrived in Rescue with some skin issues, but improved on antibiotics. The vet reports that I have cataracts, and possibly don't hear very well but I have excellent teeth (Yay!). I am currently living with another female JRT at my foster home and I'm happy to have a playmate. I have also counted on her to show me the ropes. I have good manners, too! My foster mom says I am a silly boy and I make her laugh. Oh, I also really love my blankets and like to sleep under a blanket to be cozy. I like it when my foster mom works from home. I hang out by her desk all day to keep her company. DOB: 6/26/2008.

Hello, my name is Wiley and I was brought to the shelter as a stray in Roxboro, North Carolina. I am neutered, chipped, up to date on all of my vaccines, and heartworm negative. I'm a little chunky, and could stand to lose some weight with my new family. That means I need an active lifestyle, enjoying long walks outside! I am a happy boy, a true gentleman, and am estimated to be between 4-6 years old. I am surrounded by horses and Jack Russells at my foster home! Hi everyone! I am SAM! I am a wonderful senior boy, just looking for a lap to call my own. My foster mom says I'm such a gentle dog, and whip-smart, too! I am a 10 - 12 years young neutered male, up to date on vaccinations, HW negative and microchipped. I have trouble seeing out of my right eye, but I get around really well, except for steps; I'll need you to be patient with me on those. I have old man hearing, but my sniffer works great, and leads me anywhere you want me to go. I will let you know whatever I need with some little barks -- whether I need to go out, want my dinner, or just some belly rubs. I feel most secure with four paws on the ground, so I'm not a fan of being on your furniture. I like short, leisurely walks so I can smell all the smells of the neighborhood. I love playing hide and seek with tiny treats. I have a rare JRT quality -- I am not a flight risk! You can count on me to stay close by you! I will do best in a home where I'm the only pet because I do like to guard my kibble from other fur friends. I'm looking for someone retired or someone who needs some gentle company. I am currently being fostered in Wilmington North Carolina.
