Farm life provides SO MUCH education to children. Limitless amounts of lessons and exposure and confidence.

It’s honestly endless the benefits it’s provided us. We’re missing the horses and cows on these educational days but the pigs do the job! 🤣

These 2 happy dads are helping with the weaning process.

These faces are greying more and more overtime. Their energy slowing. Though still as able as ever!

It’s such a sad and happy process having watched it slowly over so many years. Bittersweet.

Weaning day for troublesome little stinkers who got to nurse on mom for about 2wks longer than she’d have preferred! Ha. I like to see 6 weeks, these fatties got 8.5!

Our tiny family has been sick for the last 3wks with some of us sort of just getting worse. It’s not been terribly fun.

But we’re doing our best with sunny breakfasts and lots of tea and handmade chapstick and soup..

We have been in this for a long time and it is nothing but a passion project. We do it all because it’s our lifestyle and we love it.

But sometimes I’m like guys- come on. Some of these social media videos fail to REALLY show the amount of work and dedication it takes to do this day in and day out.

None of it is for people who think that sick days are allowed. As we’ve seen the past few weeks! 😮‍💨 No sick days for any of us!

Luckily I love a cold sunset.

Tightened up the pig pen tonight and freshened bedding. Watched as the herding dog crew effortlessly got the Mama Pig back into her pen when she got out during our pen repair.

They really are amazing.
Kids too!

If you’re paying attention to the news right now it’s of the utmost importance- our kids worry a bit less about algebra and more about being able to survive in trying times.

Raising and growing your own food. Self protection, foraging, survival skills, hunting, common sense practices.

We’ve been out doing some leaf ID, foraging, etc and doing fun crafts over the past 2 days for school. The kids are loving it.

Busy busy weeks!

Garden is still going strong!! Flowers are growing beautifully still. Friends are visiting, football and field trials are active, we’re making homemade cider and crafts and it’s a wonderful season.

Harlies birthday was slow, simple, easy. She was most happy by her new gardening apron and alll of the veggies we got to pick yesterday! Shes trying to decide which to enter in the fair this weekend….

Teach them early!

Trap & skeet lessons. At 7yrs old! Proud of him! Thankful for these guys who take the time to teach him and found him a specialized gun that semi fit him! Developing skills he’ll use later in life!

Everything is a mess right now and we’re just working to keep it all together! This years winter has been wild! Thankful for the knowledge and ability to create these remedies.

Picked up the garbage flown everywhere Picked up the huge branches Took branches off the pig fencing Fixed Olives shelter Got the dogs out for a run and fed Dry hay to everyone My coat is melted onto me, my boots are ruined, getting to the horses today to check on them is seemingly going to be impossible, which is exceedingly stressful for me. I hate not being able to see them constantly in this weather. BUT the hay and feed in the shed is mostly dry! And we have a generator. So there’s that. ✨ Stay safe out there today guys! It’s no joke.
