Definitely going to be needing puppy food soon!! These guys are finally learning not to gorge themselves.
Beginning to trust that another meal is coming we promise! Momma is enjoying not having to be the only one protecting and nurturing them any longer. Now that she's in her own kennel she feels comfortable enough to eat all of her own food.
They've had their first round of shots and have been dewormed!
Please donate today to help feed these rescue pups! Valhalla Rescue couldn't continue without the support of our community!

At Rudy's Beastro, we understand that life can get ruff sometimes. That's why we offer dog food donations to those in need, but not for forever. If you get more furry friends while we're helping you out, we'll have to paws our assistance. But hey, we'd love to have you volunteer with us and we can figure something out! You can receive dog food for up to 5 months a year, so make sure to use it wisely!

I love it when I get to watch the rescue pack run together! Any day at the rescue can be a fun day with this many smiles to play with!!
Volunteers are always welcome!! The simplest tasks can be the biggest blessing for the rescue! Volunteers are needed for just hanging out with these guys and taking pictures for our social media. Or if you feel up to it we could go for a hike out back!
Have you ever thought of fostering but don't have the time?? Try fostering for a short time! An experienced outing :) a weekend adventure for one of our rescue dogs to be able to experience a world of love attention!

HIGGINS HAS BEEN ADOPTED!!!!!! THANK YOU ALANA for giving Higgins a wonderful forever home and a large family to love him
Sorry for the grainy video. And also for footstool in the way. Anytime I ever go in they always stop playing so the only way I could catch them is by using our security cameras.
These guys are like typical brothers. O e minute they are fighting and bitching at each other and the next they are rolling around on the floor having a great old time.
This is the Cedric and Spoon wrestling around and Hudson is acting as the referee.
These are the last three of the #Napavine12 that are still looking for their forever home.
These guys are truly survivors. Living in a hoarder situation they were not discovered until sadly their owner tragically died in a house fire. 12 all together were rescued from the property and these are the last 3 BOYS. We still have one special girl named Aurora but she is in a different foster home.
These guys are super friendly and love attention. Once I have had a chance to be in their own homes they will truly blossom. They just need the chance to live their own lives and have their own friends. They have been in rescue for over a year. They deserve their own homes.
If you are interested in adopting an older Chihuahua mix, please come visit one of the amigos. Valhalla Canine Rescue is located in Southwest Washington but we have foster homes all over the Pacific northwest. If you would like to Foster or better yet adopt one of these guys please contact us here through Facebook or you can send us an email at [email protected]
Daphne, formerly known as Liberty, one of the #pawpatrol puppies was finally able to get in today to get spayed. She was scheduled to get spayed back in February with the boys but she came into heat so we had to wait for her cycle to end.
Today was the end of the wait and she is all done. We are so happy that her adoption is formally finalized just in time for her to move with her family to wyoming. We are so excited to see her new life in a new state.
I didn't get the camera out soon enough for her first conversation with her mama when she came into the room. She was howling away and telling her mama all about the horrible day she had for her Spa treatment. LOL. Only 1 more to go....

This page won't let me add more than one video at a time so here is the second video from later on the first day where she actually got up and walked. It took her a bit of effort but she really is trying. Her appetite is good considering that her Tremors make it a little bit hard for her to find her food. I also do think that she has some sort of vision impairment. I'll be glad to get her into the vet for a thorough exam but that won't happen until late next week my vet is jammed packed.

It is so nice to see her eating. This was the first day after she was so rudely dropped off at night. She's eating quite well considering. We did have to supplement feed her for the first few hours and give her some Q fluids but she's doing much better now

HIGGINS has been neutered and the foreign object removed from his foot. We don't know what it was but we know that he did have some hair deeply embedded into the wound that was not allowing it to heal. Once the veterinarian got in there and started cleaning it all out and removing the hair from the abscess, somehow it pulled out the foreign object too and it was never found. X-rays did show the vet that the object was gone so hopefully cleaning the wound out and putting some stitches in it will help him get back to normal.
Also it seems that he was deeply to his gigantic gonads and we expect to see some swelling over the next few days due to the difficulty in getting them removed. This is really common in older dogs like Higgins who is projected to be closer to 9 years old than 7. We are already starting to see some severe hazing, or glaucoma forming over his eyes.
The veterinarian also isn't sure if the gerd or stomach upset that he is suffering from is related to all the medications he has been on since he arrived here at Valhalla Canine Rescue for the infections and such or if it is related to the whipworm infection that of course could provide intestinal and stomach upset amongst other gastronomical issues.
So for now we are going to keep him on the antibiotic he's taking the Pepcid and other stuff he's taking and a little bit of Gabapentin for the pain but slowly start weaning him off all meds and hope we see an improvement when he gets his next round of whipworm medication in about two and a half weeks.
I am so incredibly grateful for the two different veterinarians AND HIS FOSTER HOME that is caring for him and working so hard to try to correct all his issues. His medical bills are well over $1,000 now, but well worth it to give him the good quality of life. Like I said we deeply appreciate everything that our veterinarians have done to help him.
