MN Pit Stop Education, Training, Rescue and Adoption of Dogs MN Pit Stop Rescue is located in the beautiful bluffs and Mississippi River Valley of Winona, MN.

We are a small-run, non-profit rescue group that focuses on educating the public about animal welfare, training, and doing behavior modification to keep dogs in their homes. We occasionally take in foster dogs, train them and then adopt them out to be breed ambassadors. A majority of the dogs we foster are pit bull mixes, but we've also fostered German Shepherds and small Cattle Dog mixes.

General information

We strive first and foremost to educate the public about pit bulls. To dispel the many myths that have cultivated over the years. And to set the record straight that these dogs are all individuals and should be treated as such. They should not be discriminated against based on their looks.

I, Aditi Terpstra, am a Certified Professional Dog Trainer and Animal Behavior Consultant. I offer training services and behavior consultations for those in need.
I do offer training-aids to clients and use them with dogs in my program. These products are front-attaching harnesses, head collars, hip belts, and bait bags. I use clickers for class and introduce toy motivators along with food reinforcers.

We do not advocate the use of chain training collars, prong/pinch collars, or electronic collars.
