My name is Dori, and I am a wife, and mom of 2 teenagers, and 4 furbabies (1 cat & 3 dogs) and BIG animal lover. I have my Bachelor's degree in Education, and taught for a little while, but I've always wanted to work with animals. That's my true passion! After being a stay at home mom for 10 years, I wanted to do something that I not only loved, but also worked with my kids’ school schedule. I sta

rting petsitting for Dogvacay and Rover, and then went off on my own. I’ve been pet sitting/ dog walking for 8 years. I love offering a cage free home setting, or being able to take care of pets in their own homes where they’re more comfortable, instead of being stuck in a kennel. At our home, the dogs are free to roam the downstairs. They are welcome on the couch (I love to snuggle with them), or dog beds. They are also welcome to sleep in bed with me. We have a big, fenced in yard for them to play and go potty, and a pool for dogs that like to swim. The dogs love to sunbathe on our deck. In the early evening, we love to go for a nice walk in the neighborhood. My husband and kids are also animal lovers, and love to help with the dogs. My daughter (age 18) even wants to follow in my footsteps, and work with animals. Her goal is to have her own animal rescue one day. If there is a dog staying here that is nervous around the other dogs, or just needs a quiet break, Kayla loves to take them upstairs and cuddle with them. My services include dog boarding and daycare in my home for dogs under 50 pounds, and over 1 year old (must be neutered/ spayed). I also do drop in visits at the pet's home as many times a day as needed for any size, age, or type of pet. I will do walking, potty breaks, playing, feeding, give medication, clean litter box, bring in mail, water plants, etc. I will also do overnights at the pet's home if preferred, depending on my schedule. I’m insured and bonded through Pet Sitter Associates. I have experience with senior dogs, and dogs with medical conditions, and giving medication. I always send daily updates and pictures to let you know how your pet is doing. I treat all the animals that I take care of, like my own. Expect them to be spoiled! It's going to be in the 90s all week, so Adoptable Bella is here to offer a refresher on leaving dogs in cars. TL;DR: Don't. Your pet is always safer at home rather than in a hot car while you run errands, even if it's just a few minutes.

According to the American Veterinary Medical Association, the heat in a car can rise by:

🌡20 degrees in just 10 minutes
🌡30 degrees in 20 minutes
🌡40 degrees in an hour

And guess what? Cracking the windows doesn't help.

If you see a dog in a hot car, get help. Notify the business where the car is parked so they can assist in finding the dog's owner. Provide them with the car's make, model, and license plate number. If the owner can't be found, contact the police and wait nearby for them to arrive.

PSA!!!

Find you a pet sitter before you actually need one.

Unexpected trips can come up and now you're left scrambling to find a pet sitter who has an opening for a dog who hasn't been onboarded or assessed yet and I've never met. It's much easier squeezing a dog in if an emergency comes up when I'm familiar with and know the dog.

Plan ahead for the expected and unexpected!!

Requirements to board with us:
1) meet and greet
2) paid trial daycare and/or overnight

Hi everyone! am trying hard not to have to raise my boarding & daycare rates again, but just like everyone else, all of my expenses are going up, including my mortgage. And since being divorced, I’m doing it all on my own. I’m going to hold off for now on an increase, and share this wish list with everyone. These are just some of the things that I spend my money on for the business. If you are able to donate anything on this list, or anything else that you think would help with the dogs, then I would really appreciate it. I definitely spend more than I make on this business, but I wouldn’t change it for anything. Thanks!!! 🐾🐶❤️

Update on the kittens… they are 11 days old, and their eyes are open, and they are not fully walking yet, but wobbling around. They are so cute! I was able to hold two of them today. When I put one down though, the mom, Willow, picked her up with her mouth, and brought her back to their spot. Hi! My name is Dori, and I am a mom of 2 kids, and 4 furbabies (2 cats & 2 dogs) and BIG animal lover. I have always had pets and couldn't imagine life without them. I’ve been pet sitting/ dog walking for over 6 years. I have lots of time to take care of other people's fur-babies since my kids are teenagers now. We are also almost always home during holidays and in the summer while others are on vacation. My pets are like my children, and I promise to take care of yours the same way!!!
