Finch in one of the multiple nests hes decided needed a down comforter, and three babies cuddled up to the old one-legged special needs dove. 🥰

When the Zebra Finch decides to steal beakfuls of feathers 🤣🤣🤣 What a clown

(He stole loose ones from the floor of the aviary, he didnt pluck these. Note that plucking IS however a reason Zebra Finches dont always house well with more docile species of birds. This dude does pluck sometimes, but overall he doesnt hurt the doves and bonds well with them, so he gets to live with them. Hes an exception.)

The dove in this photo is a special needs male that we have had for years now. He had a leg band that was too tight (wrong size) when we got him, and it was cutting off circulation to the leg. It ended up necrotic and after removal of the band (which was a horrid process) he ended up losing a large portion of his leg. He now has a stump on one side and he struggles to balance and perch, but he makes it by and has learned to navigate and adjust. He is one of the doves that the Zebra Finch has bonded with and they are often cuddling and grooming each other.

A few of our doves and the lil Zebra Finch being the goofy clown he is. He loves cuddling with the doves and is bonded with 3 or 4 pretty closely.

We have 2 new Ultimate Red babies 🥰🥰🥰 Theyre about 3 days old now. These will not be looking for a new aviary, they will be staying with us.

Our new aviary is complete and some of the doves have moved in! We will add a few other things down the road, but its useable and they seem to be loving all the space to fly. One particular young silver bird has been flying all over the place and seems to really enjoy doing so.

There are 3 pairs and some babies not in the aviary at this time.
