This pup broke all the rules from day one. Born at 4.3 oz and a true identical twin we wanted her to stay close and she moved 2 houses down with one of our parents. Little Faith is now Journey and she is 17 lbs! A far cry from 4.3 oz and looking really good!

Our purple collar male has found his forever home with Mark and Sheryl in SE Wisconsin. We’re happy he stayed closer as we want to see what his wooly puppy coat grows into as an adult.

Delayed post of the second puppy leaving home. Black collared male is now Gator (jr) and has arrived home safe and sound in South Carolina. Sound like he did great on the car ride and possibly getting new gear today from an outdoors store!

Big weekend for the pups pedigree! Their Grand Sire CH Cur-san’s A Chance to Win SH “Ticket” earned his 4th AKC Master Hunt pass and their Sire HRCH Hard Luck Gator’s Revenge MH QAA placed second in an AKC Field Trial earning the title Qualified All Age. Congrats to both dogs and their owners Sandy Dollar and Jerry Wagner!

So just learned some interesting facts today. This guy right here is 1 of 4 living Amateur Field Champions for the breed. He is also our litter’s grandsire.

SHR Cur-san’s Duck of the Dutchman’s JH CGC
“Duckie”

Duckie is our second Chesapeake and first breeding. She is Started Huntjng Retriever in UKC and she is both Junior Hunt and Canine Good Citizen in AKC. Duckie is a major part of the family and has one of the best demeanors of a dog I have seen. She lives with a three year old toddler and has never even shot her a dirty look.

Duckie is a 72-75 lb brown female from Sandy Dollar with Cur-San Kennels. She is part of the family and significantly spoiled. We wouldn’t have her any other way…. In all aspects she is just Duckie.

Kilbourn Chesapeakes Meet the Pups:
Blue Collar Female: “Faith”

My story was saved for last because it’s a unique one. I was born an identical twin. The first documented set of identical twins was recognized by the AKC in 2016. So I’m a pretty rare kinda of pup. Shared an umbilical cord and placenta with my sister Hope. I was 4.3 oz and Hope was 3.9 oz when we were born. The first days were rough and at the end of week one we lost Hope, but we still had Faith.

Now I’m 1 month old and I’ve grown to 1 lb 10 oz and I believe I am one of the big dogs. My attitude makes up for my size. I live with the big dogs, eat the same as them, and if it wasn’t for my size you’d think I was a big dog. I made an impression on my humans hearts and that of Kilbourn Chesapeakes and am excited to continue stealing hearts.

I am a dark brown and curly girl. My attitude is party time and I’m not afraid to try and recruit others to join me in party mode either. I’ve been told that I’m number one on the list for staying right here where I am for my forever home but they also tell me there is time for a lot of changes yet. Who knows but until then I’ll keep partying!

Once you take your hand off me I’m gone. I love the interactions with my mom and my breeders but I’m all puppy and I have the tendencies to nibble on noses and facial hair but I’m not all mean as I do like to lick as well.

The only thing that is really wild about me is my super soft and fluffy coat. My attitude is laid back and chill. I like long naps in the sunlight, cuddling with my siblings, and scratches behind the ears on my super soft spots.
