is a nonprofit rescue organization comprised entirely of volunteers. We are dedicated to nurturing, neutering and spaying, and finding homes for abandoned cats and kittens. The shelters are overflowing with unwanted pets that are euthanized, and many of our cats are rescued on their last days at the shelter. Sometimes people will find stray or injured cats and contact us to help. Every cat that co

mes into our care is welcomed with open arms. Our kitties are all fostered in private homes by volunteers. They eat quality food, receive excellent veterinary care, and of course receive lots of love and TLC! In an effort to curb the rapidly increasing number of newborns left to the streets, our rescued kittens are neutered and spayed before being placed in their forever homes. We dedicate a lot of time and, oftentimes, our own finances while our cats await adoption. Because of our committed team of animal-loving volunteers, Cats at the Studios is able to apply all of its limited financial resources directly towards the care of rescued kittens and cats. Nevertheless, because of the ongoing expense of vaccinations, neutering and spaying, and additional medical care, we are in need of donations at all times. Today is and there are literally thousands of posts asking you to give. My choice for donation this year is to Cats At The Studios, Inc. This organization is 100% VOLUNTEER - no salaries paid, they are paid with love and kindness.

Some of the reasons why - saving cats with CH (cerebellar hypoplasia), bottle babies, seniors, and those with terminal illnesses in addition to the hundreds of cats and kittens they save and find homes for all year.

While today is a National Day of Giving, the reality is the need for rescues is daily. With COVID and strikes, giving is way down but the needs of rescues never change. They can only take in what they financially and physically have the resources to care for. In addition to donations being down, we all know that costs are up - whether it is for food, litter or veterinary care. The Los Angeles Animal Services is at capacity.

Daily we in the Humane Community receive notifications of cats, kittens, dogs, puppies and others to be euthanized that day.

As of this week, city of Los Angeles Shelters are trying to not accept stray cats unless sick or injured. They are categorizing every stray cat as an outside cat and to put them back where they found them. That includes unfixed, friendly cats. This means that lost cats cannot be reunited with their owners, one of the primary purposes for a shelter. Unfixed cats will continue to reproduce and not be adopted unless the citizen takes the task on themselves.

Backyard breeding and failure to spay / neuter are not the only factors burdening the shelters - as well as crippling rescues - but a significant reason.

Rescues can only take what they physically and financially can care for. Shelters can only take in what they have room for.

Adorable Bubba is living in the cages at Petco since all of our foster homes are full 😞The poor boy lost his home to divorce, but he is sweet, playful, and perfect as can be! Come take him home today!

We are so saddened to share this news, but Juice Box passed away this morning at the vet. He had been doing wonderfully, but this morning his little body gave out. The vet suspects he had FIP or a heart issue that had gone undetected. Just last night he had been playing. This is tragic and our hearts are broken, however we have to remember that Juice lived a horrible life on the streets, but since he had been rescued he's known only love and human kindness. Thank you to the vets at Beverly Oaks Animal Hospital who gave him so much care, the vet techs who showered him with love and toys, and to all of you who made donations towards his care and rooted for him. Today we honor your life Juice Box. You mattered to so many people. This kitten was just brought to our Petco from DTLA. We are rushing him to the vet now! He looks like he is in poor condition, but he's a fighter! Just look at him tackle that food! Please spay and neuter your pets so less kittens have to struggle like this baby. We will be posting an update on him as soon as we know more.
