A week after Carter went home I met up with the two of them for a follow up lesson with a wonderful walk in a very busy Laurelhurst Park (LOTS of DOGS !!!)
Then we went to get coffee .
I went in to get our drinks while Carter was in a solid down and 6 dogs passed , he remains in his bubble no explosions !
His mum has been wanting to be able to take him out in the world to places like this or a busy park on a sunny day. But hasn’t been able to till now . Carter use to be super reactive. After 3 weeks of Board and train with us he’s now able to enjoy life with his mum . And go more places and be more at peace .⭐️🩶⭐️🩶😊

Carter and I had a lovely final field trip out in the world yesterday We came across a lot of naughty dogs that I was unable to capture on video . Specially as Carter was an absolute rockstar ignoring them .
Never ceases to amaze me how many dog owners have no control over their dogs .🙄

There is no greater wealth in this world than peace of mind .
This totally applies to dogs as well as us .
Dogs live in a world that’s constantly challenging them in every way so being able to be in a calm state of mind helps on so many levels to be able to be in this world and maybe even enjoy simple things like being with their owner sitting still while at a cafe and minding their own business when dogs and distractions walk by .
Carter has gone from exploding at various situations to a much calmer state of mind .

We had fun with the lovely people that work there Cowboy Carter on his first field trip did really well even when he was surprised by a young Great Dane . He went bonkers so was a fantastic opportunity to work him through it !

We are happy to have this fine handsome fella here at WDK for 3 weeks of training and some fun too 😉
This is Carter who lives in the city and can’t handle it when out on walks with his mum , reacting on leash and also jumping on people going bonkers in the house when people come over .
When I first met him and his mum she said she would love to be able to go out with him and enjoy sitting outside at a restaurant or cafe with him under the table or by her side and being able to relax and enjoy life with him . When she has tried in the past he suddenly explodes from under the table going after dogs that walk by . So when he’s ready we will be going on lots of field trips !!!! Maybe meeting up with some Alumni friends to get coffee !

This girl is packed with cuteness and attitude!
As I type this she is on place refusing to lay down and so is falling asleep sitting up !!!!
Ruby is a little nervous and reactive on leash and has no recall.
(She’s finally lying down on place )But not relaxed and on alert .
So over the next 3 weeks we will work on all the basics. But most importantly getting her into a better frame of mind so that when she’s out in the world she can remain in her bubble and enjoy life with her mum .

We love getting updates. This is a great one for seeing how putting in the time and the reps with training brings on results. Chief is the kind of dog that’s bouncing off the walls mentally, so learning to chill on place is not only good for his well being but all those around him .
