First field trip to Tractor supply with Leto !
It’s only the beginning of his second week of training but I wanted to get him out into the world to build on his confidence as he’s very weary of people.
So this is all about NOT meeting and greeting people but instead to be able to be out in the world and chill.
We have our bubble we are in . And my job is to help him to be able to stay in the bubble through all this extra stimulation of people , noise , other dogs etc .
By working on heel and down with duration I’m helping him to be.
And not react or be fearful of everything around him .

After a morning walk these two cuties are working in a different way by being on place ! What a great way to have your dog or dogs working and chilling out at the same time . Ricky and Izzy came to WDK for training quite a while ago. We love when we get great pics and updates from the owners showing off how they are doing a great job maintaining the dogs’ training at home…and still able to have fun and enjoy their lives together! 😃 🐕 🌲

Meet Sully !!!!
He’s 8months old lovely combination of GSD,Rhodesian Ridgeback and Pitbull !!!
I think a little Mastiff thrown in too 😉
This handsome fellow is actually quite afraid of a lot of new situations and tends to put on the breaks literally when he doesn’t want to face his fears .
So we will be helping to build his confidence along with all the basics for good obedience and learn that life is to be enjoyed and not feared , cos we have your back 🧡

Sharing a fantastic story of Stevie’s recent mountain adventure 🌲 We did a little extra training at Stevie’s last visit to WDK… her parents wanted her ready for a big hike, so we did some very focused work with the sling and her backpack 😊 With the help of her e-collar Stevie’s parents had peace of mind knowing Stevie’s recall was on point… and and she was calm and chill when she had to be carried in the sling through rough areas! We are beyond thrilled that this family is living their dream! 🐕 🐾 🌲 ☀️ ⛺️

Stevie’s here for a little holiday and some extra training so her people can get out and enjoy the trails . On the bike and hikes !
Here is the first step to getting her use to the trailer encourage her in and give some treats . We will go slow with this one as this can easily freak a dog out . First step getting into it and chilling!

And it’s only Day 1 and he’s naked !!!😉
He understands the commands ,sit and down so today we are brushing up on this by using treats and building some duration . As his sit and down is not solid and being a busy little chap it’s hard for him to sit or down and be still .
Also if he sees a treat he’s quick to pop up out of what I have asked him to do . So taking the time to go back to the basics and customize his training to what suits him best is what WDK is all about . In a quiet chill home setting which really helps the dogs to adjust pretty quickly and enjoy their training.

Welcome to George !
Who is almost three . A lovely King Charles Spaniel has arrived for a 3 week Board and train. Here are some of our WDK staff ,hanging out with George to help him adjust and welcome him to their home .
One of George’s issues is NO recall. The family want to take him out on hikes and the beach , but after going once and see him take off into the sunset they dare not take him again for fear of losing him .
Stay tuned to watch his progress and all the fun we get to have along with learning place to help him calm his little busy mind and see he doesn’t have to be such a Velcro dog to one person .

And …… remember this ?
I had to go buy a Dolly and a pram to get Ripley use to walking in a heel , minding his own business to be ready for his family’s first baby . Now another one has come along so Ripley not only walks in a beautiful heel by the pram he also is walking nicely with the little man holding the leash . His mum and dad still have control over him too of course.
So it was fantastic to get this text and pic from the family recently to share on instagram. Ripely was here for 3 week board and train learning to understand the Ecollar with basic obedience training then implementing all he’s learned with real life situations.
Also good job to his mum and dad for keeping up with rules , boundaries and structure.

We LOVE to hear back from our board and train dogs adventures!
Juniper use to be super reactive around other dogs so it was hard for her owners to be able to go out into the world and do things like hiking and camping etc . Now they can do this and so much more !
