Myth: Missing or skipping a dose of heartworm prevention is ok.

Fact: Missing even 1 dose makes your dog vulnerable to infections during that period and there is a higher possibility that they can get infected.
If you miss 1 dose and your pet gets bitten the heartworm larvae present in their body will reach maturity in 6 months and at that point the only option is to treat the disease which is more complex and extremely expensive.
This is why it is recommended to give heartworm prevention year round.
