Making hand sanitizer for the homeless. Morgan Shorter works for a great company that puts together care packages for the local homeless community and gives them out. Ended up with 38 bottles to give.

Not a great picture but we had a little rain the other day and Tequila we so happy to roll in the mud.

Our fabulous Barefoot Trimmer Shelby Frazier will be coming on Friday the 10th to trim Moose "The Man" Squirrel "Squirrely Boy" Tequila "Big Baby" and Cardi D " Shelbys Unicorn Donkey" She is the best behaved donkey ever! May or may not be a direct quote from Shelby Frazier.

2 updated pictures and an old picture. Look at his coat! It looks like a small mountain range in white hair on his side. I will try to get a better pictures for you all when I am feeling better. Summer colds are the worst!

I know I don't post like I should, I get busy with the animals and don't think about. I was looking at some older pictures of Squirrel (rescued as Diageo) and I can not believe how far he has come in almost 8 months. It is almost time for him to find his forever home. These are the older photos I will take some new ones and post later today.

Tequila is in quarantine, that is our standard practice. Chester County, SC Animal Control named him Tequila because he is a little wild. He is living up to his name. He doesn't like to be bathed, and let me know that. So we will take our time and slowly get him cleaned up. I wish he could tell me his story, he has cuts and scrapes from nose to tail. Let's not forget he is also blind in one eye, which we believe is recent as he has not seemed to learn how to compensate for it yet. This picture was taken at his favorite time of day. Morning Bucket and fresh hay! As you can see he is ready and waiting. It will cost around 130.00 a week to feed him. (Hay cost are high) we are looking for people or businesses to sponsor him for a week. He will also need to have his hooves trimmed and have the vet come out to make sure he is UTD on shots.

This is Tequila, yes that is blood on his front and back legs. He has recently gone blind in his right eye. He is our newest rescue. We are a small local to the upstate of SC rescue. We have been open just over a year. Tequila is probably going to be our last rescue for some time. In the just over a year we have been open we have received less then 1,000 is donations. We have rescued 4 horses 1 of which was pregnant and gave birth on our farm. This is less then what we spent in vet bills in the last year. My husband and I have footed the grain, hay, fairer and cost of building shelters. We will not take on an animal that we cannot feed without donations because donations are not reliable. We have sold personal animals (chickens, ducks, and Turkeys) to help with this cost. When we showed up to load Tequila we were told by the vet he was a killer when being loaded to get him off the streets, he was running loose as a stray. (Horses can kill so not a comment to be taken lightly) I spent about 20 minutes with him before we tried to load. After he ate some sweet feed while laying his head on my chest he walked right up on the trailer. I want to save so many more than just 5 horses a year. We have to rely on friends like Ann Halsmer who transported him because we can not afford to purchase a trailer. My husband and I spent thousands! Feeding, vetting and providing hoove care to these horses. When I say every little bit helps I mean it whole heartedly. If you are able to donate please do.

This is all true and your donations are desperately needed. We also miss work or use PTO to do these pick ups! Diego who is in colic went down twice while AC was on site and was down when they left. Is doing better not out of the woods and gets checked on every few hours at night and day.

Most rescues are over full, despite what we are going through it looks like we have 2 more horses coming in. But a bit of good news is we do have running water now! Leak was found and fixed. We do have to repipe the house but can't have that stop us from doing what we do. But funds are needed for food, hay, vet bills and so on.

We’ve introduced Legs to you, now it’s time for tomorrow’s 2nd intake! This handsome guy is Bob!! Bob is a 17 year old off-the-track Thoroughbred who has had some rough years with his hooves. Abscesses and the need for corrective shoeing has kept him in pain for a long time. After years of trying everything, and thousands of dollars spent to no avail, his owner decided it would be in his best interest to enter a rescue where his healing could be focused on. She contacted MULTIPLE rescues over several months, and found no help. We are beyond capacity, but knew what the next step would be for this guy, and absolutely could not turn a blind eye. Bob is said to be a grumpy boy, but I can’t say that I blame him! Our goal is to get this guy comfortable and pain free! We will be working closely with our farrier (who happens to be scheduled to come out next week!!) to get him in the best set-up possible for what he has going on! It will not be cheap, but with every animal we intake, it WILL BE WORTH IT! If you’d like to donate towards the enormous farrier bill that Bob will likely accrue, we would be eternally grateful! We will keep everyone updated on his arrival, and his progress as we take this next step towards what we hope is a bright new future for Bob!

We are fully dependent on private donations to provide all animal-related needs and medical care for the beautiful souls on our farm. I know it's been awhile, I don't post as often as I should. But I thought I would show how far BizzyB and QueenB have come.

I also hate asking for donations, my husband and I have been covering 99% of the cost. But there are things we need that due to a broken refrigerator, well pump replacement and a plumbing leak under our slab that we are waiting to get located and then will have to repair. Our funds are running super low. So I am reaching out and asking.

Finally was able to get QueenB to stand cross tied long enough to get the tangles and mess out of her mane. That is great considering it used to take 30 minutes just to get a halter on her.

I can not be the only one that talks to their animals, however I maybe the only one that does it like a Concierge.
