Building up focus in Tully (golden retriever), and confidence in Piper (goldendoodle).
These girls have very different obstacles to overcome but both compliment each others training.

Sydney (on the left) just finished her 2 week refresher program! πππ
She has been here a few times before, including when she was an 8 week old puppy. So we know her very well. She has always been fearful, submissive, and uncertain in new situations. As she matured she became reactive to other dogs when out on walks, and on high alert which intensified her prey drive.
So these past 2 weeks have been all about boosting her confidence by improving all of her skills, and counter conditioning the way she feels about her triggers. Now she walks with her head held high and a wagging tail. She still has a long way to go, but with patience and consistency, she will continue to grow more confident and secure. π€π
She is a sweet girl with amazing owners! We can't wait to have her back in a couple of weeks to join her sister on training walks! β€πΎπΎ
πΎπ CHARLIE ππΎ 2 WEEK PROGRESS - PART 2!
In this video:
Heel, sit-stay, down-stay, come - all with increased distractions. Or in this case, his puppy friend, Freya.
π€πΎπΎπΎπΎπ
It is so important to teach your young dog how to behave, and have self control in the presence of other dogs. This prevents pulling on the leash, reactivity, and excitement when you come across another dog on walks or adventures.

πΎπ CHARLIE ππΎ 2 WEEK PROGRESS
13 week old sheepadoodle
Aspiring Therapy Dog
In this video:
'Wait' (to be released from crate)
'Get in' and point (to go into crate)
'Wait' (to be released to eat from dish)
'Come' and 'sit' (to clip the leash to collar)
'Wait' (to walk through front door together)
'Heel' (to walk on my left side)
Right, left, about turns, figure 8s
Automatic sit when I halt.
'Leave it' (leave food on the ground alone)
Increased distance to 20 ft on:
'Sit-stay' and 'down-stay'
'Come' (to a heel position)
'Wait' (to walk through front door together)
What else:
Charlie quietly sleeps in his crate throughout the night. He is also crated during the day for short amount of times while he cannot be supervised.
He has not had any potty accidents in the past week and uses the doggy door. He will be transitioning to using potty bells at home.
He likes to nap inside and outside in the shade, and play with his puppy friends!
He no longer tries to nip or growl at any of us. π
General information:
These are a lot of new skills for a pup this age to learn in just 2 short weeks. This provides a solid foundation for all the other training that is to come. It is imperative to continue this training at home so your pup does not forget any of it. Sessions can be short (5-10 minutes) or long (20-40 min), depending on your schedule and puppy's energy level.
Remember to have patience and make each session fun! If you or your puppy messes up, no big deal! Mistakes will happen. Just try again next session. We don't expect our kids to be ready to graduate high school after 2 weeks of school. π So we shouldn't expect our puppies to be perfect after 2 weeks of training. β€πΎπΎ
Charlie is such a sweet pup and will be missed!!! I look forward to working with him again in the future!! π€πΎπΎ
πΎπΎ CHARLIE π€
A snippet of day 3 of training! This was at the beginning of our session. We do a whole lot more but for the sake of fitting it into a reel, this is what we got! π
Training impulse control around open front doors prevents door dashing behavior. Charlie waits for my command to head out.
Teaching Charlie to walk in a heel prevents pulling, getting tangled in the leash, and leash reactivity in the future. Charlie is learning to stay on my left side and sit when we come to a halt.
Training your pup to wait for your command to enter your home shows them you are their leader in and out of the house. They will be more likely to listen to you. Charlie waits to enter our home.
Charlie is doing so much better in just these past 3 days. Can't wait to show you more!!!

πΎβ€PICKLES β€πΎ Just a couple months ago she refused to hop into the car no matter which direction, rewards, and encouragement I provided.
We've been getting her to be a little naughty in the house to help her build up those hind leg muscles. Started by getting her to jump onto a tree stump, then onto a bench, and then onto our bed that sits pretty high. This week she finally did it!! She jumped into the car with a little running start. ππ
PICKLES OFF LEASH!!! πΎπΎβ€πΆ
Spent a few hours at Bass Pro Shops yesterday preparing for her CGCA & CGCU.
Working that off leash heel in a public location on the busiest day of the week! All the basics, stair and elevator work, and lots of 3 minute down stays from 20'+.
You've seen her in several of my videos over the past few months. She has been training with me since she was a tiny pup!

Found these little clips of Autumn! ππΎπΎβ€ she has been home for a week now but we think of her and her sister Ginger a lot!
β€πΎ AUTUMN πΎβ€
Sister to Ginger. 1 week progress.
We had some icy conditions today but we still had to get out and work!
Autumn is super sweet and cuddly. So much so that she doesn't want to "stay" and just wants to be right at her handlers' side! However, teaching a dog "stay" is an important skill that can be applied in real life situations. It shouldn't be left out of any training program!
We use this elevated dog bed to help teach this skill to new dogs who need a visual of where they should stay. It clearly teaches them not to step off of the bed. If they do, we guide them back onto the bed and try again. They quickly learn they only get rewarded when staying on the bed. Once they show a good understanding of what "stay" means, it can be practiced anywhere without the bed.
Autumn knows all the basics. More videos to come!

β€πΎ PICKLES πΎβ€
Building on 'place' and learning how to jump onto higher surfaces.
Pickles is very loved by all and gets plenty of training, exercise, food, and attention. Despite her well rounded life, she is lacking a bit of confidence and belief in herself when it comes to hoping into the family car.
We had to take a step back and get her comfortable with hoping onto higher wide open areas. Once she got the hang of it, we moved onto this larger tree stump. Though she has become very comfortable with tree stumps, she still isn't comfortable enough to jump into an enclosed, higher platform, like the back of my car.
We will continue working with her on this and can't wait to share the moment she takes that big leap into the car!
Dog parks! Where other dogs want treats too, and everyone gets tangled in long lines! π
Pickles did an amazing job though!!! β€πΎπΎπ
β€πΎ KODA πΎβ€
Place with distractions!
Koda wasn't too sure about working in the snowstorm. But she did it! New confidence gained! βπΎβπΎβπΎβπΎβ
Pickles got to go to a Valentine's Day Party with our Homeschool Co Op group! β€ππ
She was so well behaved with all of the kids! π
Maddox, my 6 year old son wanted a turn at being her leader. π
We can learn from children. Look at Maddox's relaxed and confident posture when he walks. Then watch how he leads as he runs. This is how we should look when we walk our dogs!
I will pour as much information as possible into all of my clients who put their trust in me with their dogs! I love educating people on dog behavior. I speak dog all day long! Woof! πΆ
Here are PICKLES & KODA working on public manners. Pickle's owners came out to participate in this session and speak dog with me. π€πΎπΎ
β€πΎ Koda πΎβ€
2 year old mini Australian labradoodle learning new things!
Down, stay from 20ft distance, come, place.
Pickles will continue to make progress on ignoring other dogs on lead. She has improved so much already! β€π
Be calm, Frankie ππβ€
Doing down stays with a dog distraction!
This was a big step for her. Being able to stop and think at her age, when all she wants to do is play, is a big deal! This is really hard to do for some pups. But all is possible with love and patience!
Bloopers!!! ππΎπΎ
We love these silly moments! Makes our job much more fun! Pickle's was so over our weirdness. π
