This kitten season has been overwhelming to say the least. As a community, we lost a lot of ground for spay/neuter as well as trap-neuter-vaccinate-release due to the clinic closures during the pandemic. While the national veterinarian shortage has been a big hurdle to overcome, we are working to ramp up our public pet health services, including community cat spay/neuter.

If you are a cat trapper, or if you have a family of cats on your property you want to ensure doesn't continue to procreate, please see the below information for the services available to you as a city of Dallas resident.

We need your help to catch illegal animal sales in the act.

Please use 3-1-1 to report the illegal sale of any animals on public property and the illegal sale of dogs, cats, or exotic animals on private property. While Dallas Animal Services officers already respond to reports of illegal animal sales, the new Animal Illegal Vending Service Request type makes it easier for residents of Dallas to report online, by phone, or using the OurDallas app.

To make a report, call 3-1-1 or follow the steps below:

Step 1. Visit https://dallascrm.my.site.com/public/s/
Step 2. Select Animal Care & Control
Step 3. Select Animal Illegal Vending
Step 4. Hit Request this Service and fill out the form.

Provide as much information as possible - exact address and time observed, condition of animals, and license plate. The online form also accepts photo submissions.

Help DAS stop the cycle of unauthorized breeding and illegal animal sales. Thank you to everyone who calls in concerns, we rely on your tips to take action.

A lot of animals found homes this past week and now 70+ more are waiting for their chance 🏡

Adoption fees are waived due to the Clear the Shelters event that is running through September 10th. Adoption includes spay/neuter, microchip, and vaccinations.

This little female DSH tabby came in on 8/9/24. She was picked up by PD. Our A*O noted her cleft palate on intake. She weighs 1.25lbs and in need of rescue! She is eating on her own and no other health concerns reported at this time.

Hiiiii! Striper here, and boy am I super thrilled to be alive and HEALTHY – I just cannot thank you all enough for donating to my fundraiser and helping to save my life!!!

My amputation surgery was a rousing success, and even though I’m still getting the hang of the tripod way of life, I’m healing like a champ!

I just have nothing but the deepest gratitude for everyone who found it in their hearts to help me!!! THANK YOU!!!

We are at 155 cats in our care. We are in desperate need of rescue to get our cats the help they need.

We are being patient with our remodel but like most construction things do not go as planned. During this time our staff has worked hard to make adoptions happen but it’s been difficult with the high number of cat intakes. Most coming in with illnesses or injuries. Our medical need cats need the most help!

This little kitten was found with two other kittens, that sadly, were already gone. One kitten arrived deceased, and the other was hardly breathing and too far gone for assistance. This little one was immediately administered aid. She only weighed about 0.54 pounds. Not even close to a pound. She devoured her food, and we re-weighed. She came in at 0.74. She is fighting for a chance to be rescued and find a better outcome than her poor siblings.

Meet Keke (aka Keitha), a sweet and gentle girl who's been on a journey to find her forever home. She was adopted three times, but her forever mom and best friend, who loved and accepted her shy nature, passed away unexpectedly. We welcomed Keke back with open arms, but unfortunately, we're currently without a foster home for her. She's now staying in a small condo at the vet's office, where she's struggling to cope. Keke needs a hero - a foster caregiver who can provide a loving and comforting space for her to heal and thrive. Can you be that hero for Keke?
