It's Senior week here at Scuba Sams 🐾

Nothing gets my love tears bursting like an old dog ❤️

My heart is full when I see an older dog feel better because of what we do. They are bouncing a little more and Tails are wagging.

Is your dog slowing down? Sleeping more? Not wanting to get up on the sofa or in the car by themselves? These are all signs that they may be feeling uncomfortable and probably lacking the strength.

This isnt the end!!! Take action sooner rather than later and you can help your dog glide into their senior years and hopefully (all being well and good) keep your dog in your life for longer 😊 ❤️

Did you know that a change in coat growth can be an indication of pain within the muscle?

On this lovely dog the coat that sticks up and is curly (upper back and lower back) was where he had the most fascial restriction. It is definitely something to look for on your own dogs 🐕

The cool weather months are almost here! Our dogs love it when it finally cools down after a brutal summer. Longer walks, actually being able to enjoy some sunshine without being suffocated by it, and most importantly, comfortable footsies no longer being beaten up by that searing hot pavement!

But did you know cooler weather actually aggravates joint pain and makes the discomfort caused by arthritis much worse? Warmth is vital for reducing pain, stiffness, and muscle spasms, and does this by increasing blood flow, which brings oxygen and nutrition to the cells. This is why we make sure the water in our pool, spa, and treadmill are kept at optimal therapeutic temperatures.

Sadly, our sweet doggos can't stay in the water forever, and the importance of keeping the chill off muscles and joints cannot be overstated, especially as temperatures in the fall and winter months start to come down.

This is why we keep high quality drying coats by Ruff and Tumble in stock at Scuba Sam's - it's so important for keeping your dog warm after a hard and therapeutic workout, and they can be used on chilly walks, as well.

It also doesn't hurt that they're super adorable 😍 💕

Bonus tip: manage joint pain for your dog at home by investing in a good heating pad!
