UPDATE:
Momma Mash is now Honey. She’s doing well in her temporary location. We are giving her and the puppies time to get a little stronger but they are scheduled to be transported to their foster home with their receiving rescue in a couple of weeks. The total bill is $865.90.

This precious little momma (owner given name Mash Tater) was in extremely critical condition yesterday when we received a message asking if we could help her. She was rushed to Dr. Morgan to see if he could help her. She was going into shock upon arrival at the vet. She was rushed back to surgery, we were first told one pup didn’t survive but that 5th puppy was revived so all five pups and mom are doing well so far. Dr. Morgan said that momma nor the pups would have survived another day had she not been brought in when she was. She was signed over by the owner and is going to a rescue that can take care of her and the pups while they grow andget the care they need. At the clinic she is now known as Momma Mash & her tater tots! This will not be a small bill so if you can please help us help her it would be greatly appreciated. It was a wonderful morning for our spay/neuter transport this morning! Thank you to everyone who showed up to have their pets spayed & neutered!!
‼️PLEASE NOTE‼️ going forward we will only be scheduling for 1 month out for each transport. MAY & JUNE ARE CURRENTLY FULL so in JUNE we will schedule for July. Thank you all for being responsible pets owners!! 🐾

Two throwaway hounds sure had a village behind them! Luther and Trooper needed our help immediately and thanks to Jennifer Roberts and Sarah Griggs they had a place to decompress and put on some much needed weight! Thank you Sherry Roberts Coldron for securing rescue for them and getting these beautiful “after” pictures. Thank you K9 Freedom Rides for getting them safely to their next stop in their journey! Thank you to the Wythe County Dog Shelter staff (Linda Sharon and Kaitlin) for taking such wonderful care of them while they were there!
Every single person in this journey is a true hero and if these 2 could thank you they would!

‼️LOCATED IN WYTHEVILLE VA‼️

Oden, formerly Rudy at the shelter has settled into his wonderful foster home and is enjoying every moment. Oden did have to have most of his teeth extracted due to total neglect by his former “owners”
Oden was picked up by animal control as a stray and we suspect that some really horrific things happened to him prior to being found curled up in a bale of hay with a companion (who was later adopted.)
Upon examination it was found that Oden has a fractured skull but it was an older wound and had begun healing on its own. When the shelter started filling up and Oden needed out we couldn’t leave him there and our best bully breed foster family quickly stepped up to help us help him. Thank you Chad and Megen! ‼️LOCATED IN WYTHEVILLE VA‼️

Dozer is a 7 year old neutered male who was surrendered to the shelter by his family for reasons unknown to us. He was there for a while with zero interest. Shelter staff noticed that he wasn’t acting like himself one morning and quickly called for help. We could not let him suffer so we agreed to pay for a vet visit and it was found that he had bloat and needed emergency surgery immediately to save his life! We had to give him a chance and thankfully he is fully recovered and is healthy and happy and thriving in his foster home! Thank you Jes and family for everything!
