The importance of not giving up on yourself or your dog. We took a puppy to an 8 show weekend. The first 4 shows were rough. We actually got a 2nd place in a class by ourself because she refused to walk on the leash. It was a well deserved 2nd place! My puppy is just 6 months old and I wanted it to be fun for her and she wasn't having fun. So we started using more enticing food treats. Show 5 she took a reserve best female and show 6 a best female. Show 7 today she was best female and show 8 she actually won Best In Breed and then a Group 3 placement in a class of 9.
That means she beat another female French bulldog (mine that kicked her butt all weekend) then she beat a CH and GR CH and then she went into the ring with 8 other breeds from the companion group. I was really happy. Anyway, if you feel like giving up...don't. Try a different way and make it fun for the dog. At the end of the day I think that's what we all want isn't it? To enjoy the dogs we have brought into this world and show everyone how great they are! Lola is pictured with my granddaughter Olivia.
