Some of the results from Short Claws Healthy Paws nail care (trim with skilled, knowledgeable grinding):
1. Pain relief for pets! Long claws press into the ground, causing joints in the paws to become sore. Overtime, this can lead to lameness, even arthritis!
2. Many pets become more energetic, even playful again when we make them comfortable on their feet!
3. Traction on hard floor surfaces improves.
4. Reduced likelihood of painful nail breaks!
5. Reduced snagging on blankets, furniture, clothes.
6. Fewer scratches to human skin!
7. No more clicking sound of claws on hard floors!

(**No, we do NOT and will not "cut and cauterize" even if requested--that is inhumane, and not necessary! Properly performed nail care is painless, respectful to the individual's nail conformation/tissue structure, and does not bleed, but still gets results like this!!**)

House calls ran a little overtime today, we are running late to our arrival to Randall dog park. We should arrive there just before 4 o'clock. Thank you for understanding!
Several people have inquired whether I will be keeping the schedule for walk-ups this evening and the answer is yes, my air conditioner has a good filtration system on it to keep pollutants out so please don't hesitate to come in for nail care. I will be parked at the Randall dog park from 3:30 to 5:30 this evening (7/25 Thursday). If I am a few minutes late please don't panic, sometimes house calls run a little longer than normal but I will be there as close to 330 as possible!

The "before & after" photos are from this sweet dog's first session with us! Lots of comfort gained! Remember: long claws press into the ground and disable the feet from working correctly--ground pressure distorts toe alignment, causing joint pain and even mobility issues! Short nails allow the pads of the feet to contact the ground and work correctly to cushion the dog's joints while standing, walking & playing! Thats why short claws make for healthy paws!

We see dogs so often that have "fresh trims" done elsewhere that didn't remotely shorten the nails enough! This sweetie came in today with a 4-day-old trim that looked like he hadn't been trimmed in months. Knowledge about the nail anatomy and understanding of each individual dogs' nail conformation enables a proper professional trim! Short, rounded nails are healthy for dog paws (and also better for their human companions' skin)!
Come see us, we will be making stops at Randall Dog Park (corner of 48th and Washington) on the following days for walk-up nail care sessions: Saturday 6/15: 10:30 - 2:30

These girls didn't like nail care when I first met them...now, they're my buddies and so willing! Good girls!
Cats can also learn to accept nail care with good professional handling.
Sharing a video of one of my boys getting his trim at home this morning. Nail care does NOT have to be stressful. With proper training and conditioning, all dogs can learn to accept nail trims & grinding. Dogs that fight nail care violently or fear it is a condition caused by improper handling and lack of knowledge of the training process. Thanks to Doss my bloodhound buddy for being my model today ❤️ (And no, he is NOT just a mellow dog--he's a working search dog who is a hoodlum when not working--he loves running full speed chasing birds and wresting with his friends. He is great with his nail routine because he's been properly trained that it's just a regular part of life.)
Reacher loves his nail care, just like his dad does (posted a clip of him a few days ago). My dogs have been trained and conditioned to nail treatment, please don't attempt to trim your own dog in such a manner. I'm just sharing videos like this to show people that nail care is absolutely not something a dog should dread or stress about!
Check it out! Two of these nails are Dremeled properly, two are left undone to show the difference! What is your dog walking on?! Nails should be up off the ground to allow your dog's feet to work properly, with the pads gripping and flexing as the foot moves during strides. When nails are left too long, proper mechanics of the feet are disabled!
