This is the old Clinton Anderson facility, which currently had Priest Performance Horses and another trainer in residence. Over 40 horses were lost, employees lost all their belongings in their barn apts, and Eric Priest has severe burns from trying to rescue client horses, he’ll be in the hospital for at least 2 weeks.

There are GoFundMe set up for both trainers, here is the link for priest, and I will put the other one in the comments below. If you can give a little to help these two trainers get back on their feet, many small amounts add up. Horse people try to take care of each other, let’s show them we are all compassionate people.

Understanding the potential for extreme weather in your area and having an emergency preparedness plan will help keep both horses and humans safe.

Ah love the memories of the wonderful goats and pre 2018 place.

Ah love the memories of the wonderful goats and pre 2018 place.

With the leaves changing and dropping each day-the goats make a mad dash to find the "verboten" ones I couldn't get to in time-the wilted ones off fruit trees and the hunt for acorns...I get to most first but with acres of oaks one can never keep them away from all of them. It may be a good time to revisit the toxic tree/plant list (try the UC Davis Vet School or Cornell University or many others in your own region) again as the trees shed their leaves. We are coming upon the season where misletoe is sought out...living or dead keep this parasitic plant away from all animals-large and small.
