Our Story

York Fresh Food Farms is the first and only urban farm in the City of York. York Fresh Food Farms is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that was created to reduce hunger in York County. In 2018, we grew more than 18 tons of vegetables in York City that were distributed to families in need.

The vegetables grown and harvested at York Fresh Food Farms’ urban farm are sold at affordable prices at its Mobile Produce Market, a farmers-market-on-wheels. The Mobile Produce Market operates from June to November, six days a week, with a set schedule of 6 to 9 stops per week in a different York City neighborhood each day.

The Mobile Produce Market is providing high quality produce to underserved and food insecure families, addressing food access inequities and increasing the consumption of fruits and vegetables in the City of York. The Mobile Produce Market will be starting up on June 7th, 2019, weather permitting.
