We had a visit from our friends at Pasa Sustainable Agriculture and TeamAg, Inc.
Our tunnels got snow-covered, but our veggies stayed safe under their covers.
And our new executive director, Mark, got his feet wet running a couple of our mobile markets!

York Fresh Food Farms is the first and only urban farm in the City of York. York Fresh Food Farms is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that was created to reduce hunger in York County. In 2018, we grew more than 18 tons of vegetables in York City that were distributed to families in need.
The vegetables grown and harvested at York Fresh Food Farms’ urban farm are sold at affordable prices at its Mobile Produce Market, a farmers-market-on-wheels. The Mobile Produce Market operates from June to November, six days a week, with a set schedule of 6 to 9 stops per week in a different York City neighborhood each day.
The Mobile Produce Market is providing high quality produce to underserved and food insecure families, addressing food access inequities and increasing the consumption of fruits and vegetables in the City of York. The Mobile Produce Market will be starting up on June 7th, 2019, weather permitting.
The 2,372 customers served by the Mobile Produce Market in 2018 represent the diversity of the York community. In addition to cash and credit cards, the Mobile Produce Market is an authorized vendor for SNAP/EBT, WIC and senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program checks, WellSpan Market Bucks and Food Trust Food Bucks.
We know that when families can afford a healthy diet, communities get healthier. York Fresh Food Farms keeps its produce affordable and provides a place where neighbors come together around shared healthy food. A highpoint of any market is when the customers, often a diverse group of strangers, start talking to one another and sharing experiences about food and cooking.
