It was 🥶 today! Between sloshing around in some morning grub, hanging heads out in the below freezing air, running around and playing fetch, breaking ice multiple times, and wondering if seconds come in sweeping out the hay storage…it’s been a wonderful day with all the animals!

Spent some extra time with the horses getting them dried out from the down pour this morning, groomed and ready for blanketing for the upcoming weather.

My ol’ man was loving it. Catching a snooze while I braided his tail 😆🩶

We just got in and thawed out just in time to walk back out!

Friendly reminder - check your animals water bowls/buckets/troughs if you don’t have freeze prevention set up. Keep those babies dry and warm! The worst “ice” is on the way.

It’s officially the calm before the storm!

Please, if your animals can come inside, bring them in. If not, it’s vital they have warm shelter where they are kept. Provide them bedding (straw at the very least, excellent heat conductor) within a dry, covered area to escape the direct elements. Water will freeze, please check those water bowl/buckets often! 🥶

Ol’ girl missed the memo the rest of the herd got “grain time!” Missing one on my head count…look up the hill to the hay round…she’s up IN the hay 🤣 in the zone! I love how she looks like she’s wondering where everyone went. Once she spotted them, she took off like a spring chicken and threw in a kick or two 😆 never a dull day in a life with animals 🙌🏼❤️
