Some unfortunate news regarding Bobby “Waterboy” Boucher. Today Bobby woke up entirely fine and did some running around, but around 2 PM I watched him run a little bit before stumbling. He then began to have seizures into raising his head high and gasping in pain. I began to suspect Stargazing which I found out was correct. Unfortunately, with the pain he was in, he had to be put down at just 6 days shy of a year old. He had an energetic personality and often showed off his beard to the females, often climbing like he was Spider-Man or swimming in the water bowl provided. This past year has been filled with a lot of medical issues for him, only to discover he couldn’t be cured of his neurological condition that ensured his eventual death today. It’s been a rollercoaster with this boy and I’m glad to say that I got the chance to raise him to this point.

Fun fact: There are several reasons that bearded dragons bob their heads. 1) Slow bowing: This is used by adult females to signal submission to a male. 2) Fast bobbing: This is used by males to assert dominance and is often accompanied by an inflated and/or black beard. 3) Violent bobbing: This is used by males before they mate. It is much faster and usually causes the Beardie’s body to move. 4) Not a noticeable bob, but sometimes Beardies bob out of stress despite being male or female.
