Sorry for the delay but South Dakota kept us busy!

Trapper (formally Sturg) from our SR Amos SH x SHR Cleo JH '25 litter got his first ruffed grouse in northern !

And Rainy (formally Snow) from our SHR Wally JH WC x SHR Eva JH WC '24 litter got her first duck!

Congratulations dogs, we love to see our pups thriving!!!

What a tough day with the wind, but several flushes later the team from AZ was able to get it done. 40 mph winds make pheasants go 80mph!!
Wally, Tipsy, Amos and Cleo made some short work of the birds that got knocked down. These guys made the best of the windy hand they were dealt. One more group to go and then back to reality in Minnesota.

Had a great last day with the group from TX/IL/DC!! Struggled to start with only a handful of birds after a couple walks. Then we hit the mother load! Finished strong and made new friends for years to come. Juan even had to get a picture with his new best friend Amos. Best part of the day for me was seeing all 5 of my dogs get to pick up a bird at some point. We are off to a great start!!

I was not very good at getting field pictures. The cover was so thick and the wind was so strong that staying focused on the dogs was the full objective today. Amos and Cleo were the stars of the day per usual, and ol Wally put in work when it mattered most, Tipsy got her first two retrieves and Bash got out for the last walk of the day.

Solid dog work made for happy hunters with limits all around. Now we feast!

We like to be efficient. In and out in less than 15 minutes. 3 wood ducks and a story.

Took Tipsy and Bash to an easy public walk in spot. Was expecting young dog bloopers and chaos. But it couldn't have worked out better. Tipsy and Bash each got their first retrieves on a 'pair of loaners ' that I doubled up on. Third was a single that I winged and made it to the opposite bank. Went over with both pups and watched them work it out. Once they found it tucked in the grass, the chase was on!

Pretty cool first retrieve memories for me!

Got a cool update from Miss Victoria in New York! As much as we love to see our pups working in the field, she does a great job building some unique skills into her labs. Bash is her second pup from us and with any luck, he has a strong future in some niché environments. Bash is out of SHR Cleo JH WC and HR Amos SH '25

"Bash went to the NYS canine expo yesterday and did amazing with hundreds of people and dogs around and watching my other labs do dock diving"
