Meet Lucy (Little Egypt’s Grey Phase)
She is a dog that lives with a friend of mine and I go pick up from time to time and do some work with. I planned to NAVHDA Utility rest her, but not quite yet. This past weekend I was apprentice judging a test up in Virginia Minnesota at the Iron Range Retriever Club and had brought her up to work in the evenings after the test. They had a few dogs drop out for Sunday so I took off my apprentice hat, grabbed my whistle and said, “what the heck” We had a few hiccups during the day, but after scores were read, Lucy earned a 172 Prize 2.
For being a little spur of the moment I’m very happy with that and proud of her.

With testing season in full swing, a couple Syd (Flatlanders Chicago Bandit)pups ran their NAVHDA Natural Ability tests this past weekend.
Point North’s Blackjack (Whiskey) and Jager Ray’s Gunner (R***r)
Both pups earned a max score of 112.

It has been fun watching this guy from our “A” litter go from a energetic cooperative pup earning a max score in his NA test with his first time handler to meeting up with him and EJ in Nebraska, South Dakota, and North Dakota each of the past 2 falls to do some hunting. And now getting to see him from time to time while he’s spending the summer with Anthony at Blackbelt Retrievers Great Lakes for some polishing up.

A bit about this video. Vaughn and I got our roosters in ND. I was putting them in a snow bank to get a quick picture. When I had them there and looked around for he she was nowhere to be found. I guess she wasn’t done.

Think these guys like their job, Did I mention this was day 3? 😊
