πŸ₯° We can't wait for this sweet baby girl to have a much better life! Going into her first surgery now to start the process of repairing multiple fractures. Wish her the best!

Lilly, a French Bulldog, came to us needing soft palate and stenotic nares surgeries. Frenchies and other brachycephalic breeds are genetically predispositined to an elongated soft palate and very narrow nasal openings, both causing strained breathing, difficulty swallowing and snoring. In the 'before' video, you can hear just how hard it is for Lilly to breathe normally through her tiny little nostrils. Dr. Ball was able to shorten the palate and as you can see in the 'after' shot, open up those nasal pasages much wider. Lilly is breathing and feeling much better today!

Little Clover somehow fractured her right femur (it's a mystery!) and came to us for the repair. Two weeks post-op, one year old Clover is nearly fully healed now and doing great, however we still want her to rest over the next few weeks for optimal healing. Isn't this little thing the sweetest? 😍

This sweet girl is Reina! A 6 year old American Staffordshire that came to us in early December for Tibial Tuberosity Advancement (TTA) to repair her left knee. She also received her own Platelet Rich Plasma in both knees for the best recovery. Today was Reina's 8 week post-op graduation with excellent radiographs that her knee is back to normal and so is she. Great job to Reina and her parents! πŸ‘‘πŸ€©

Happy 15th Birthday to Finn Ball!!! Yes, that's right, our Office Manager turned 15 and had quite the office party with all of his friends! He got right back to his rounds once the cake was eaten and a failed group photo was attempted. Finn, you are the BEST Office Manager and we can't imagine a day without you here, congrats on a whopping 15 years! 😍πŸ₯³πŸŽ‚πŸŽˆπŸŽπŸŽŠ

Moose, a 4.5 year old Labrador Retriever, came to us for the removal of a sialocele. This is an abnormal accumulation of saliva within the gland or glands, which are located around the jawline. Sialoceles can be caused by trauma to the salivary gland via a puncture from a toy or bone, a choke collar, among other things. The accumulation causes inflammation and swelling in the neck area and can interfere with eating, chewing and swallowing. It is treatable with a very technical surgery to remove the affected salivary gland or glands. Moose is happy to be back to normal!

Canine urethral prolapse can be a fairly common issue in English Bulldogs, which is what handsome Harvey came to us for. This prolapse causes the urethra to extend outside of the p***s, which can be painful and cause infection. We were able to surgically repair this for Harvey and get him on his road to recovery!

Charlie, a 6 month old Toy Poodle, came to us with a left tibial tuberosity avulsion after his owners noticed him limping all of a sudden. While under to repair the avulsion, we were also able to remove 8 deciduous teeth that were impeding his adult teeth. This sweet boy was an absolute angel during it all and was ready with his new shiny bandage to go home and heal with his family.

Happy Thanksgiving! Be sure to keep in mind that most people food isn't great for your pets. Possibly a small bite of cooked turkey is fine, but definitely leave the bones for the trash only! Remember, anything made of dough causes discomfort and bloating for them as well as sugars so let's keep our pets healthy and happy this Thanksgiving, enjoy everyone! πŸ¦ƒ

MPL (Medial Patella Luxation), which occurs when the kneecap moves out of its natural position, can be a common congenital issue for our small dog breeds. Luxating patellas can cause pain, discomfort, limping or hopping and should be addressed based on severity. The levels of severity can range from mild to severe. When severe, MPL surgery is necessary to stabilize the kneecap and has a very high success rate of getting your pet back to its happy and active lifestyle.

Our model in the photos is Martini, a 4 year old Chihuahua who had the MPL surgery performed on both knees (at separate times). She has recovered beautifully and is back to her active self! If your pet is suffering from a luxating patella and you aren’t sure how to treat it, give us a call to schedule a consultation to learn more!

This is Bubba Blue! Bubba, a 9 yr old male American Staffordshire Terrier, came to us as a four-legged dog with a giant soft tissue sarcoma (cancerous) mass on his left rear leg. Bubba's parents had to make a really tough decision to amputate his left rear leg to ensure all of the margins were clear and give him the best chance that the cancer wouldn't spread to the rest of Bubba's body. His parents were saddened by the loss of his leg and struggled with what Bubba's future would be without it.

We are happy to report that Bubba is doing SO WELL!! He is back to his old self, going on his daily walks, playing ball, swimming in the lake again and getting those butt rubs in! We are proud of Bubba and his parents as these decisions aren't easy to make. Cheers to a full life, Bubba!

We have Thor, the Golden Retriever, here for a procedure to fix his torn CCL and we thought we'd make him his own little 'fury' friend to hang out with while we prepped him for surgery. We think Thor really likes him! 😍

Mitchell came to us last week from the wonderful folks at Homeward Bound Animal Welfare Group with a rare condition involving two hernias. A peritoneal-pericardial diaphragmatic hernia and a pleuroperitioneal hernia. This is when the abdominal organs essentially get trapped via the hernia inside the chest cavity or the sac around the heart, called the pericardium. This can cause numerous issues such as severely decreased lung capacity, vomiting, diarrhea and lethargy. Mitchell's case was so severe that he was having difficulty eating and had reduced lung function, requiring immediate surgery. Mitchell came through the surgery successfully, and after some extra TLC we are thrilled to report that he is doing great! Please check out our reels to see Mitchell's celebration on his road to recovery! Here's to Mitchell and his tenacity, go be a GOOD BOY Mitchell! πŸ˜β€οΈβ€πŸ©ΉπŸΎ
