Yesterday I had to say good bye to my sweet boy, Beau. I can’t even wrap my head around what had happened. You were running around playing with Lucy, eating normally, and enjoying our new home. You were not like any other cat I have met. Always wanting to be center of attention, cuddling up any chance you could, and just being the most loving animal. I will forever miss the morning you awake up me just because your bowl of food isn’t topped off, waking up to you and Lucy running around like elephants at nights( no idea how yall are so loud) and the welcome home kisses every time I walk through the door. Then in a blink of an eye yesterday morning you were gone. Until the very moment before you past you were your spunky loving self. Lucy and I will miss you very much.

Beau had suffered from a blood clot that went to his brain. No symptoms, no change in personality, no change in eating habits. This is extremely common for this type of cat. The only way it can be found is genetic testing or if your cat presents a heart murmur. The heart issue goes completely undetected and can cause death or paralysis of the back legs depending where the blood clot travels too. This is a silent killer.
